OWN is sponsoring a two day show - the advertisement says "where do we go from here .....what are our demands"? It is going to be a discussion led by her and has about twelve others.....here is my problem all of the participants are black. Why not throw in someone caucasian or asian or something as I don't find this a purely "black" issue. We don't need a race war we need to come together. Just my opinion

Not seen that and will not watch it. But to answer your question yes she is stirring the pot. She is one of the most racist people in the country. Don't care what her or "their" demands are. We already have a race war. That is what this is. And it is getting worse. I know someone personally - the woman is white her husband is black. They are teaching their kids that white people will try to hurt you and kill you. And they are teaching them to hate white people. The man is so full of hate for every white person other than his wife it is pathetic. Sometimes I am not really sure he likes her. All kind of beside the point.
Like I said, I have not seen what you are talking about and won't read it if I see it on yahoo but if black people come out with a list of "demands" from white people and this has to be met to stop this destruction it is going to start a civil war.
I am glad I live in an area where this type thing is not happening. Nobody really cares here. We have a few that have tried to start something but they were quickly shut down.

Countrygirl12 I couldn't agree with you more

I'm glad our town gets along with each other...We don't have those problems here..We all respect each other..And I live in South Carolina..We will have a few idiots from time to time..But all in all our town is pretty quite and respectable to all colors..Never liked Oprah..She is one of the biggest racist I know..We dont need people like her..She doesn't help the situation at all..

I saw that promotion for Oprahs show/special and wondered why there was no other races. Every time she does a special/show she has primarily black people/celebrities on it. And yes I do think she's stirring the pot. I will not watch it because I do not really like her.

yes she is stirring the pot, that is a crazy thing for her to be talking about. Things need to calm down

I agree with you, she is definitely stiring the pot. I never liked her and don’t watch her.

I don't usually listen to Oprah (or ANY celebrities, athletes, and entertainers who get onto soapboxes and pose political opinions). My exception to that general rule is when a celebrity becomes involved AS AN ACTUAL politician running for or holding political office. In that case, and ONLY in that case does their political opinion matter to me. I won't necessarily agree with them, but I will listen to what they say and consider it.

watched a little she does seem to be saying what others are saying and stirring the pot. just because its oprah doesn't mean much.

Time and unforseen occurrence befall us all.
As 1 example, who woulda thought Adam Lanza woulda blew away 26 kids and teachers 8 yrs ago in an area u thought it could never happen? And thats only 1 example.IOW,u can be in wrong place at wrong time.
The bible says,"The WHOLE world"lies in power of the wicked one.Man is capable of wrong doing too.
Most of us know this. Most just dont care. Then stop complaining.Take your medicine.
Look at this world. You think a God of love created this?Of course not and by him its been going on only 6 of HIS days cos HE always existed. He will act when his time determines its enuff.

I have not seen Oprah Winfrey on TV for a very long time so I do not have very much to say about this.

I don't personally care for Oprah and I'm a liberal Dem. Don't give a rat's tootoo what she thinks or does! :bootyshake:

I hate Oprah. Just look at what she did to TV. She is the one that made gossip fashionable. It is so unbelievable how she has found ways to cash in on so many levels and make it look like at the same time she is doing something good. She is truly a dangerous person much like most of them in her position. >:(

Doesn't she always do something like this ? Like I consider a real pain now considering how she was before.
-
I agree, we are all in this together. Seems to me that we always have been. I don't pay attention to Oprah or other talk show hosts. I don't think that they should be so influential as they want to be. They are there to entertain not share their opinion on politics.

I used to admire Oprah but after reading and listening to her talk about things, I've lost interest. I even stopped watching her channel OWN.

I used to like Oprah but she has her fingers into everything. Isn't she happy with the billions she has yet? Guess not. She buys into Weight Watchers and changes the name to WW. She bragged how much weight she lost on the program. Last time I saw her in a commercial for WW, she's gaining it all back again. Great promotion for that old standby.
As for being racist, she's just another two-faced celebrity who thinks because she has a lot of money, she can tell everyone else what her opinion is and we are not to disagree. Just like Hollyweird people. Noses stuck in the air and the "Do you know who I am? I'm someone you need to side with because I'm smarter than you." Frankly. I couldn't give two you-know-what. The only people in LaLa Land I care about are the ones who DON'T make their opinions known. They keep their opinions to themselves and don't try to push any demands on the rest of us. That's about a handful of celebrities and that's sad.

I trust Oprah to do the right thing, however, I do agree that there should be all races represented. We ALL have to work on this problem together. It's a HUMAN issue as well as a race issue. Thank you, Oprah for trying to assist in moving the discussion forward.

If she presented topics using views from all sides & opinions she would be fair & balanced; but she does not, she chooses people using only one view point & presents it without any kind of oppositions or differing viewpoints.
Oprah is an excellent role model of a woman over coming many challenges in life & became, well Oprah. An amazing life story, that shows America isn't so racist after all.
