Do you prefer canned or the regular way to cook them. I ate canned sweet potatoes and added sugar, honey, and butter and it was delicious. They're healthy for you too.
-
I've never actually tried canned sweet potatoes, maybe I should one of these days.
-
Sweet potatoes are full of good nutrients.
Fresh ones are the best choice.
-
I do both, I add brown sugar, and honey too.

I buy raw sweet potatoes, cut them into cubes, and put them in my instant pot (in a steamer basket) with 1 cup of water. Cook under high pressure for 8 minutes (for 2 large potatoes). Mash and mix in some butter and brown sugar. Really fast and easy and so good!! Enjoy!

I like the fresh ones. I like to bake mine and slather in butter and brown sugar. Yum!

when it comes to sweet potatoes, I prefer the fresh ones but I have used the one in the can also mostly prepared with brown sugar, cinnamon, and a dash of vanilla flavor and butter. I also like to just bake them and eat them plain.

I had Japanese sweet potato today it's so good. It's sweeter and creamier than regular sweet potato. You don't need to add anything to it like butter and cinnamon.
-
We like fresh ones, I also like to grow them, have not been able to get any slip yet this year.
-
Never tried canned ones only bought the ones from a regular market or any farmers market around me but I do enjoy eating them.
-
I've tried both and have no preference ex1cept raw for baking

Haven't eaten the canned in years but have some in the pantry right now that I will try and make sweet potato casserole out of - I imagine I will like them love sweet potatoes.

I prefer fresh sweet potatoes; like to bake sometimes adding a little cinnamon or butter. I rarely use the one in the can.
-
I've had sweet potato fries (a little too much that they don't taste that good to me at all anymore) but given these comments, I may have been depriving myself of something that tastes even better.
-
I like sweet potatoes any way they are fixed
-
I love fresh sweet potatoes, baked in a hot oven for an hour or more. I don't even add sugar to them. To me, they are absolutely delicious. I try to stay away from canned vegetables as much as possible.

I prefer the fresh ones. Canned just seems to sweet and mushy to me.
-
I like sweet potatoes raw and baked. I prefer fresh over canned, but I do like the sweet potatoes made at Thanksgiving with brown sugar and perhaps pecans in them......extra sweet, like a dessert.

I like sweet potato fries, I bake them & put them in my spinach salads. I also like them whole & baked with a bit of butter in them, so delicious :)

When I was a kid, we only ate sweet potatoes out of the can, usually for Thanksgiving. Of course, my mom would doctor them up as you described. I had my first fresh sweet potato when I was an adult, and of course I had to put butter and a little brown sugar on it because I was so used to having it extremely sweet. :peace:

I prefer fresh sweet potatoes. When they're fresh I can bake them or mash them. The ones in the can always seemed too sweet for me.

I prefer fresh ones, I baked them with a bit of cinnamon, honey and butter and add cranberry juice and almonds, they turn out really good.

That sounds really good!
-
They are great canned or fresh, though I don't think sugar and butter still qualify as healthy.
-
i like loaded sweet potatoes from texas roadhouse with marshmallows
-
I never eat sweet potato
-
Im sure they would be alot healthier without the sugar, honey, and butter :)
But I do the same, but I put butter, brown sugar and pecans in mine. And usually just eat the canned ones
-
We have then often to make Sweet Potato Fries in the Air Fryer. They are much healthier than other potatoes.
-
I'm a big fan of sweet potatoes. Wish that I had them more often.

Growing up, and even into the 80s, I only knew Mrs. Paul's Candied Sweet Potatoes and only had them for Thanksgiving. Never bought the canned and fresh wasn't available that I can remember until 15 years ago (I think). I did try sweet potato fries and they were horrible! I'm the only one who will touch them so I might get a fresh one this year if I make Thanksgiving dinner. Otherwise, I'll still order candied sweets from the restaurant we get takeout from. :)

I don't care for sweet potatoes, but my husband loves them.
