I haven't.  Thought about it.  I think I live out of there area.  So it would probably cost a fortune.

Is it a place where you buy junk or donate?  I've never heard of it. Give us an update if you find out.

It is a place that when you have junk you want to get rid of, you call them and they pick it up for you.

I have never heard of this place.  I guess it is more of a local thing.

cateyes1 is partially correct, 1800 got junk picks up stuff you don't want but not for free. I'm not sure what they charge for their service but I've heard that their fee is based on how much junk you want to get rid of and the size of the item. For example, they'll charge more to take an old sofa away verses a broken lamp. I'm sure there are similar companies out there, you might want to consult home advisor to find the crew that fits your budget and services your area.

Yes, I've used 1-800-Got Junk several years ago to take a bunch of stuff (junk) away. I think at the time it was one price to take everything, but it was kind of pricey. I think they may charge for the amount of stuff you enter into the tool on their website now, but I'm not sure about that. Regardless, it was just a relief to get the junk out of here, and the guys who hauled the stuff away were very nice and professional.  :peace:

I've heard of it but have never used it. They used to advertise on the local radio morning show quite a bit. The radio host always used to say that they would take anything at all except for your wife or your pets.

They are also featured on many episodes of the TV show Hoarders where they would haul away multiple huge dumpster sized truckloads of junk from some hoards.

Why not just use the curb?  It's probably cheaper just to rent a dumpster.......

I see their trucks all around my city.
There is so much junk and pollution all around the world.
It is hilarious and frustrating. Where do we put or store
all the junk and unwanted items?

They're really great. Worth every penny. They'll grab the stuff you want gone and will take it away. Quite pricey, but it's worth it especially if you need to get rid of big furniture.

I have not heard of 1-800-Got Junk.  A quick look at Google, shows 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Is a full-service junk removal company serving areas across the United States. We’re in your neighborhood. We offer junk removal for homes and businesses as well, including offices, retail properties, construction sites, and more! Our friendly, uniformed teams can help you get rid of just about anything. We’ll take just about anything non-hazardous that two strong crew...

Where I live we are fortunate to have a landfill.  We can haul our "junk" there and pay a fee to dispose of it.

I think they're the company on Hoarders that comes to pick up extremely large amounts of trash

Sounds like I could've used this when I moved; I threw away a lot of clutter but also ended up still taking several trips to the trash bin due to even more decluttering.

I’ve seen their commercial on tv.  I’m thinking about calling them.  I have some things in the basement I want to get rid of.

I have heard about places like this before. I know they charge a fee to take things away. My mom was going to do something like this when my grandparents died but the fee they where charging was way to much.

I don't understand why anyone would use this service if it is a pay for service -- the trash pick-up company will pick up large/junk items a couple times a year for free. Also, we have a couple metal scrappers that come by weekly & will pick up metal items, appliances, law mowers, etc... for free.    I had an old hot water heater on the side of my house & they actually came up to my house to ask if it was available, they picked it up & put it in their truck & it was a win-win situation for both of us.  Anything else can go via the salvation army - which picks up old tvs, offered up for free on the internet, or just slowly thrown in the trash weekly.

They recycle what is recyclable & then put the unwanted items in a landfill & pile it up... there are housing tracks in Riverside County here in Southern California that are on top of old land fills, grated land fills.
