A wise friend once told me, if you are under 30 and not a Democrat (Socialist) you have no heart and if you are over 40 and not a Republican (Capitalist) you have no brain.

Interesting post. I was never a Socialist but I do have a heart. I don't think I had a clue about any particular party.
I am a Republican now, obviously over 40, so I guess I'm good. Right. :icon_rr:

I have never been a socialist. Never expected anything to be handed to me. Never thought anybody owed me anything. If I wanted it I worked for it. I remember wanting something one summer, when I was younger, and I worked 12-16 hour shifts all summer and saved my money to be able to buy it.

I don't know if he coined it or just adopted it, but I think I first heard/read this comparison in an article or book written by P.J. O'Rourke.
I think I probably fit the description pretty well. I was never a socialist per se, but I did tend to lean more to the Democratic mentality in my youth. Once my eyes were opened to the media manipulation and I examined what I truly believe in - personally, spiritually, morally = I very easily made the transition to the Republican side.
I do not espouse 100% to the typical Republican platform, but it is much closer to my personal beliefs than the other.
God Bless EVERYONE who has an opinion whether it is aligned with mine or not. You all certainly have that right. If I disagree with you, it doesn't necessarily mean that I think you individually are a bad person. I just wish that the majority of the liberal folks would give that same deference to those of us over here on the right.

That is for you to decide. It's just tolerance for those who need a little more time to make the adjustment to realizing that you can't just hand out other people's money because it feels good.

The word Christian means to follow Jesus,correct?
How do we learn about Jesus?The bible,there is no other way.
Jesus wasnt political in his day.He gave ALL the credit and support to his father.When Pilate asked him if he was a king,Jesus said his kingdom was NO part of this world and its ruler was Satan.
Point being Jesus wouldnt be a Republican or Democrat in todays world but Adhere to his father as rightful ruler.But until his government takes over its rule on earth we are told to be in subjection to earthly governments as long as they dont compromise Gods laws and to be kind and pay our taxes.
I know some of U follow my posts and know i dont care for Trump.I will admit i think the guy lacks humility.Biden doesnt come across to me that way so i favored him more....but i still know he or any man will fix this world......if i did i guess i would have voted......i didnt and dont.
And i will say this again,if i got drafted in early 1970s and had to support war i would have gone to jail based on what Jesus told Peter RE if you draw your sword.Loving your neighbor is the 2nd command and its tuff to do with your enemies and i know that.
So to sum this....Nationalism will NOT have anything to do in gaining life.
Even tho many are ignorant of bible truths,if Jehovah sees the heart of us all and sees there are many that desire what the truth is,U can be assurred he will give them a chance to know it.
Thats why Jesus said there would be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous.Many died NOT knowing the truth and in Jesus 1000 yr rein on earth after this Satanic world is put out of existence it will be afforded to them to learn it and then they can decide if they want to love and obey Jehovah what he did and will do for mankind.

Maybe your friend is right. I am slowly starting to change my political ideology the older I get on just a fundamental level.
