Do I believe it will end? No. Do I believe something will happen? yes. Scientists have been mentioning for years that the earth will finish its 25,000 year wobble in in 2012, thus finalizing the changing of the earths axis. Not to mention a comet is supposed to come very close to the earth in that year. however, very close is something like 300,000 miles. Not actually cose enough to do damage to us.
In the mean time, I'm rather enjoying all the "half truths" that people are spouting to scare others. The ignorance that is running rampid is amusing to watch... though sometimes I feel that if people continue to be this way, the movie Idiocracy may change from a work of fiction to true prophecy...

I do, however, want to see the movie.
Anyway, even IF the world was going to end, I wouldn't want to know, and I certainly wouldn't spend the rest of my time thinking about it and worrying about it. What an awful way to live. No thanks.

Yea I don't really have an opinion on it, since there is nothing I can really do to control it. But if you asked me "Do I want the world to end in 2012?" No Thanks, I like being alive on earth.

I believe that the earth will change in a momumental kind of way but I do not believe it will be the end.

idk I do and i don't. I'm sure something will happen but i can't say that the earth will end... I mean wasn't the year 2000 supposed to be like some huge disastrous time or something... heck i don't even remember now what all the fuss was about. The movie was amazing though!!!!

People often cite the galactic alignment as a signal of this Mayan prediction nonsense. Those same people often ignore that the most precise galactic alignment we know of occurred in 1998. Guess what happened then? Nothing. All of this silliness is based around the equinoxes and solstice, and yet there is very little evidence that the Mayans placed any importance on solstices or equinoxes.

I think it's all nonsense. There were many ancient socities who predicted the earth's downfall at some point or another. If it does, it does I don't see why worrying about it now will make any difference.

people have said the world was going to end for ages. i dont think a predicted date will bring the end upon us, but i think that we will bring the end upon ourselves eventualy.

I'm still waiting for someone.....ANYONE....to show me proof that the Mayan did in fact actually predicted the world coming to an end.

I have read in depth about 12-21-2012 and something will happen!!!! What I can figure is this---The mayan calenfar is based upon lunar cycles and a lunar or solar or universal event will happen in 2012 that has not happened in 20x20x20x20x20x13x13 years (i.e. mayan calendar) lunar cycles. It will be an occurrance of once in 5000+ years; a galaxy alignment of celestial bodies, but not the end of the world. And then, will it be 12-21 or 12-23 or else; the common opinion (more than 50 percent agreement) is 12-21 but there is no defenitive proof that 12-21 is it. There needs to be an exact translation for the mayan calendar to the gregorian via the julian calendar.

The bible says no man knoweth the hour nor the time when the son of man cometh into glory but the Father. NOT EVEN JESUS CHRIST! The father! You need to heave your hearts right with God right now anyway because you won't have to worry about the end of the world if you die tonight that will be the end of your life on this earth your soul is going to judgement friends. I speak this truth out of love friend andmy conscience and the Holy Ghost bear witness with me that the judgment is coming repent (turn away) from your sins and belive the gospel (that Christ is come to save sinners who whom I am chief to save them from their sins because Christ was manifested for this very purpose to destroy the works of the devil and he is the one causing all this confusion but if your in God's word there is no confusion about it every lying religion and movement of this world that has destroyed lives and damaged people has been from satan and they all have his trademarks racism lies hate murder rape these are all of satans works the works of the SINFUL FLESH you need to be saved so come to Jesus Repent of your wicked sins (even every private thought weither it be perverted or hateful because to God this is adultry and Murder and this is where these sins stem from is that nature in the heart and that desire in the heart.) The heart is deceitfully wicked and no Dr can cure your heart because they are also decieved by their own wicked hearts! You need the word of God which you don't read but it reads you you need to stop worrying friend about the end of the earth because the end of your hope for salvation is drawing nigh as life is so short! Now is the accepted time of salvation and today is the day Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life and no man cometh unto the father but by me. He said come unto me all ye who are heavy ladened and I will give you rest he said whosoever drinketh of this water shall not thirst but rivers of living water will flow from him he said whosoever drinketh of the living water (speaking of this salvation in Christ this relationship with God) shall never thirst again he said that he is the bread of life and whoso eateth of his body and drinketh his blood shall have eternal life and unless you have eaten of the bread of life (been born again of the spirit of God John 3) than you have not eternal life living in you and you need this salvation because all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and the wages of sin is death! There is a second death but the gift of God is eternal life because the bread of life was broken and his blood poured down for our salvation because as the bible says in Romans 5:8 God commendeth his love for us in that while we were yet sinner Christ died for us! He became sin who knew no sin so that we might become the rightesouness of God in him. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. If you do not repent you shall perish and have your part in the lake of fire which is the second death and it is because you are of your father the devil 1 John 3:8 "he who commiteth sin is of the devil" Read the chapter friend you will find the insite of God you are of your father the devil but also in the chapter it is explained that whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin because his seed remaineth in him. The Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit of God) dwelleth in them that have repented of all their sins and pleaded the salvation of Christ Jesus they are continually walking in God's light and you will know them by their fruits! Be born again be washed in the blood of the lamb read the word of God and ask God for the understanding and you wil lsee what is to come but its even better to know the salvation in Christ Jesus now! Repent and believe the gospel and though shall be saved! Oh sinners the destruction of the earth is coming because of the wrath of God upon wicked men! This destruction the bible says is goign to be aimed at all who practice unrighteousness and undgodliness who walk after the ways of this world and live like their father the devil ALL WHO ARE NOT SAVED THROUGH JESUS CHRIST SHALL BURN IN HELL BECAUSE THEY ARE OF THEIR FATHER THE DEVIL AND THIS IS WHERE THE DEVIL WILL REST ETERNALLY! You need to be converted friends and then this end of the world mumbo jumbo isn't going to look the same way to you youll be more concerned with those who haven't been saved than the destruction of this temporary earth. Yet you will have peace in knowing your going to heaven and are going to spend eternity growing in the grace and love and knowledge and understanding and holiness of Jesus Christ the Lord!

No. Because no one walking on this earth knows when this system will end. The whole 2012 thing is based on one earthly man's prediction, and not on the prediction of the one who created the earth. The creator has more knowleged than the created.

Surely you can see the issues with this logic? If I think I can fly, it doesn't mean I can fly. If you think you can lift a 4 million pound boulder with one finger, it doesn't mean you can. If you think reincarnation occurs, it doesn't mean it exists. That's now how things work...not in this universe at least.
