Sometimes, however, Uranus appears to move backward in the sky; this visual backward motion is known as Uranus retrograde. Uranus stations retrograde once every year, spending just under half of the year retrograde; these retrogrades normally last five months. During these transits, Uranus appears to move backward in the sky, recovering approximately four degrees each retrograde. Overall, Uranus spends about forty percent of its time in retrograde.

I still can't get past the pronunciation of the doggone planet's name. :sweat: So that means I can't take any of this information seriously.

I get around that by pronouncing it YUR-uh-niss. To which my daughter then replies, "I'm not a Niss! YOU'RE a Niss!" and I say, "That's right."
