Title: Christmas Tree
Post by: afroach on November 09, 2009, 02:42:28 am
Will you use a real tree or a fake tree?
Me, I will use a fake tree. Less mess that way.

I usually get a real tree.  I love the smell!  I put it in my sun room, so it's really easy to bring it in and out through the sliding-glass-door.  I usually don't have much to clean up.

Real ones do look pretty and smell good! However, they can be messy and catch fire. I will probably use an artificial one we have stored in the attic. Less expensive, and the joy is in the attitudes of the participants anyway.

I have used real fresh trees for a couple of years, but now with the economy  :'(   :sad1: don't know, maybe a smaller tree - I don't have an artificial tree. I love the smell of fresh pine.  :dontknow:

I don't put up trees at all.  Haven't had a tree since I was about 11.

I live in the city and don't have the storage space for a fake, but I love real ones anyway, so it's not really a problem. The smell of a real tree just makes it feel like Christmas. Besides, my parents have a good fake that sheds just as much as my real one!

We alternate each christmas.  Last year was fake, so this year, I guess It will be real.  My husband takes the kids to the woods to get one.  He says it's family time.  I prefer the fake one, so that's why we alternate.  That way its fair.

I always did the fake tree because of my asthma/allergies. This year, I'm doing NO tree. Maybe not even Christmas.

Remember that scene in " Christmas Vacation " when Chevy Case takes the family to cut down the perfect Christmas tree? That's so funny.

We've almost always used a fake tree.  Between my allergies, cats climbing the tree and all those needles, we've decide the fake works best for us.  I would love to do a small real tree or at least maybe a live wreath because I do love that smell of pine.  Our fake tree alreadys has the lights on it, so it sets up so easy.  Don't have the giant ball of lights to untangle every year.

Love a real tree, the way it smells. Will use a fake tree this year. But I also have a 4 foot original silver tree with pom poms on the ends that my mother gave me so I will put it up in the living room and use the color wheel with it. Grandkids are fascinated with it.

My parents have been using a fake tree. When Christmas is over, they put it away and take out again the following Christmas. This is less expensive.

we will definitely be using a fake tree.  live trees are with a bad idea with two little ones...they are too expensive.

Real!  I will be so sad the day I have to use a fake one, I have grown up getting a real tree every year.  I love the smell and it helps the air in the home because of the CO2 balance (we dont have plants regularly).  We have 2 cats and 1 dog which isnt a great idea but we keep an eye on the water level and keep the animals from climbing up the tree.  They are getting a little expensive though, it used to be $20 for the 13' tree my parents used to cut down to about $30 for the 6' that fits in my home now.
