Title: DO NOT CALL!!!
Post by: MystedMoon on November 08, 2007, 01:06:13 pm: For all of you having problems with annoying Telemarketing calls. I am going to post a link to the Government owned, "Do Not Call Registry!"
You enter your phone number, (home/cell). And it will stop these harrassing calls. Calls most of the time stop immediately after registering but can take up to 31 days. Any Telemarketer who calls you afterward, will be in violation of the FTC laws and can/will be fined w/possible jail time. There is even a section on the said website to where you can lodge a complaint should these Telemarketers call you after you have registered.
The National Do Not Call Registry is managed by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency.
This is serious business here as they are out of control! I have not had any problems with getting annoying calls as I registered my numbers last year. But I've seen some of you complain and think this is the solution instead of you having to spend more money to get a phone just for these calls. Afterall, Do Not Call Registry is at NO cost to YOU, the consumer!

Post by: mrmike2007 on November 10, 2007, 06:56:21 pm: I have been on the do not call list for a while now.. but if you read the TOS in the offers you complete.. most of them state that they will have people contacting you to offer services, and if you click I agree, they have proof of YOU accepting their calls. So read the TOS carefully before completing an offer.. sometimes you cant do much about it... :sad1:

True MrMike, always read the TOS! But once you decide that you don't want their service, you can tell them to add you to their do not call list, and they have to abide to that rule! It's also in the donotcall rules to telemarketers. Unless you accepted: "they can call you forever, even if you decide you're not interested."
Read donotcall's rules to telemarketers as well. :wave:

You would probably be amazed how many need Fusioncash. They have dead end jobs they hate and are desperate for money, or they wouldn't be doing that.

Why would I want to shut that off?

I even go so far as pressing the right number to get a live person when I get one of those robot calls.

People tell me to tell the telemarketers that the person they called for died the other day and I am having suicidal thoughts lol. (I haven't done this)

Post by: denariley on September 11, 2009, 12:34:08 pm: This is a great list to be on... just keep in mind that you have to renew your numbers every 2 years I believe... it might be 3..... It works nicely but you do have to read the TOS very carefully...

They don't know what no means and they are sure persistant. If you are willing to help stop them, please do.
