It would depend on the offer.  Which one is it?  Did you read the TOS?  :)

I agree Obopay is a very secure site, but since Obopay is no longer an offer on FC, I was curious as to which offer Heatherbug was doing that asked for her SS#.

the only offers i know of that ask for your ss # are the credit report ones n they are all legit. so it is safe but up to you... as far as obopay, i did'nt have to input my ss# till i activated my card

This is just my personal opinion to this answer----I personally dont feel safe giving my social security number to anyone, anywhere at any time, so no, I dont complete offers that ask for it.

But on the other side of this debate-----you have just as good of a chance of anyone stealing your identity whether or not you give out your social security number. identity thieves could get your information from a whole lot less than that.

If some one wants your info they don't need your ss they got your address and phone number and your name and date of birth that all some one need to get all the info they need  and that any were just not the computer  you can go to your store in your town and use a cc and some one can get the info off of it that happing to me  so there nothing you can do to stop some one from getting your ss number
