Did anyone receive a cost of living raise this year from their employer?
I know that those receiving Social Security benefits did not get any increase in their pay.
I was fortunate - my company provided a 2.42% increase, not much but it will help offset some of the increasing costs of our health insurance! My husband on the other hand got 0% increase, probably fortunate that he is still employed FULL TIME - they are not forcing them to take days off without pay which some companies around here are doing.

my husband did not get a cost-of-living increase, but luckily he still has his job, with guaranteed full-time hours and will very likely be promoted (with pay raise, i hope) within the next few months

I gave myself a raise by paying off almost all of my bills last fall.
Also my youngest daughter turned 18 so now for the first time in 22 years I don't have a child support payment either.
Now all I have is my land payment, auto insurance, internet and the regular reoccurring bills such as gas groceries etc.

keeping my fingers crossed for his promotion. I'm hoping for a promotion as well, I will also get a pay increase (or a bonus) when I finally finish my Masters Degree this spring.

I wish I was getting a promotion! thumbs up!

 I am on Federal retirement and I got a letter saying the cost of living has not gone up so I am not getting a cost of living increase. Explain that one to me. I know that every time I go to the grocery store I see the COST OF LIVING INCREASE.
My husband didn't get an increase either but we are thankful that he still has a job and works full time. There are so many that have it worse than us, I am grateful for what we do have.

I don't think the cost of living raised as much as usual this year.

Be thankful that you have a job the economy so bad that most small town businesses are having to shut down and there really is not any relief in sight! Hope everyone who has a job is able to keep them! :'(

Now that's just great

This year my teaching hours were cut by 8%. Next year, all the teachers in L.A. are going to get an 11.75% pay cut. So my answer would be a big fat NO.

at work unfortunately we don't get pay raises at this point. our company is on a pay increase freeze since the company is barely staying in the black right now. Unfortunately with the state of the economy, not many people are ordering new kitchen cabinets and such, so we don't have a lot of business. Thankfully being the only custodian I at least have job security, but unfortunately the people in the plant have been alternating weeks off because of low cabinet order volume.

I will probably not get a raise this year either. I didn't get one in 2008 or 2009 either. It would be nice if I did, especially since my ex husband lost his job and I'm not getting child support anymore!

I'm going to be taking a 10% cut.

My current employment can't allow any more employee's a raise. And insurance is going up on my end as well. Can't live without that really, so it's on the rise. :angry7:
