I am trying to become more aware of my spending, especially with the use of coupons?
If you are an avid coupon user, do you have any tips?
-
i'd actually like some tips on using coupons too.
it seems that every grocery coupon i find is never
something i'd buy anyway. its difficult finding them
for stuff we actually eat!
does anyone have that problem too?
-
I use coupons all the time I save at least five dollars every time i use them
-
I never use them, what a hassle keeping up w/them all AND having to find the correct items in the store!

Sure Do. Wendy's around here have a survey you can take online with your receipt to get a free hamburger. Rinse, repeat and you're getting free burgers every few days.

I didn't think of that...I do a similar thing at Sonic Drive-In, where the receipt says "Free Route 44 on your next visit" and you don't have to purchase anything or even pay the taxes on it...and when they bring the free drink, you get ANOTHER receipt that says the same thing!! I sometimes get a free drink every day for a week or two straight before one of them doesn't bring me the receipt lol.

Yes I do. I go to coupons.com and print out coupons. I use coupons for shampoo and makeup mostly. I go to CVS they have coupons also and they have that extra bucks thing also. Sometimes I use all three coupons and you can really save a lot. I also shop at Walmart, their prices are pretty good. ;)

at this point in my life, with the economy, of course, all the time.

i use them when i can find them for products i actually buy.

Yes, I use them...but I try not to fall into the habit of using them on items I don't necessarily need.

I am a coupon queen!
1. I suscribe to the local paper (pay $12 a month thanks to a promo code on a coupon from a local store)
2. clip religiously
3. quick online search for relevant coupons. (downloaded a coupon toolbar from FC thispast week as a matter of fact)
4. organize coupons by category (produce, frozen, meats, etc.)
5. then by expiration date (like milk, first to expire goes to the top)
6. I keep them all in a 3 ring binder in those clear baseball card collectible sleeves (on sale at staples)
7. trade the coupons I don't use with friends that may want them and vice versa
8. make my shopping list before i go
9. pull out coupons i'll need and leave the binder at home (this way your not tempted to shop around your coupons instead of your list)
* I have actually walked out of a store with them owing me money before. ;D

I try to use coupons whenever possible. Sometimes, I miss out because on a fixed income, the store coupons are out by the time I get to use them. Need to be more organized.
