I heard on the radio today while driving home that American idol was starting again today.
does anyone here get into that show? I haven't watched it much the last few seasons, but I am interested to see how Ellen does as a judge.

I used to watch Idol, but to me it has run its course. I don't watch it anymore.

I turned it on @ 8 but lost interest real fast. I will watch if there is someone that I like.

I just heard that Simon is going to be leaving after this season. Say goodbye to IDOL! I have to give Ellen a good credit for this year. Maybe this is her chance to be top woman in this field. She is a great performer!

I think American Idol is great! It is fun to watch it in the beginning because you see the good and bad singers. Some of them are soooo bad that you have to feel sorry for them. I think Ellen will be a good addition to American Idol. I think she will make it real funny. We will see. I miss Paula a little and I am not sure about what it would be like without Simon.

I started watching this season and so far its great, I cried last night after the girl from the small country made it. Everything she said made me believe she was full of life. Did you guys see that Mary J. Blige (might have spelled her name wrong) was a guest panelist last night? Was it just me or did she come off to be like a bi**c?

I can understand why the show would be fairly popular, but I have never understood why it is a popular as it is???? Talent shows have been around for years and years, it is nothing really new or different. The fox news stations cover American Idol, like it is VERY important news! It is very silly and ridiculous, there are far more important news stories to cover. I guess because it is BIG money. Maybe it is winding down..........

I only watch Idol during the audition segments. The auditions are so funny. It is hard to believe that so many people who can not sing at all, would tryout for a national televised talent show. You have to have some real courage to do something that bold. I basically only watch Idol for the auditions because they are too funny to miss.

I watched it the first season. It just got on my nerves after that. The same thing with Dancing With The Stars. I just never saw the big deal with it.

:wave: I usually watch it every year, but not every night it comes on like I used to. I probably won't watch after this season, with Simon leaving. I know Ellen was supposed to be on and I was anxious to see how she gets on with Simon, but I have yet to see her on there...guess she's just a guest judge. :dontknow:

Honestly, I wasn't much of an Idol fan, but now that one of the contestants is a girl from my HS (she made it
to the next round!!), I'm a bit more curious...plus, with all the talk about Simon leaving, I figured I might check out some of it....

I begin to watch some of it towards the middle of the season. And by the end of the season, I am really into it and I know who the finalists are. I try to watch the last few shows.

well i havent seen ellen on there yet. i seen the auditions but they had victoria beckham on there as a quest judge..u know posh spice?? and well she look very pretty. some people cant sing and if u can not sing at all dont audition coz it wastes ur time and their time.. and people like winner kris allen want to be one step closer to getting to hollywood and the faster they can get in to see the judges and get their 4 yes's the faster they can get to hollywood and show all of u idol "wannbe's" up, and win the show.

I used to watch it but it has gotten so overrated.... after simon has said he's leaving then well who they gonna get to play bad guy? I used to turn it on just to see him trash horrible singers! most of which just wanted their 15 minutes of fame!
