What Are You Doing with Your Tax Refund this Year?
-
I'm not getting one because I don't quite have to deal with taxes just yet, but my mom's using it to pay off some bills. I'm hoping to see a portion of it to go to my savings for a DSi to replace my broked DS Lite.
-
I am hoping to pay off the rest of any outstanding bills i have. almost debt free! Can't wait
-
Wish we were getting one. My husband gets 1099 so were actually going to pay out no get money.
-
Put it in my ING Direct Savings account. If any of you get a refund of more than $250 and want to do the same thing contact me and I can get you a $25 account opening bonus.
-
If I get a refund which I probably will I will put some if it in savings and use some to pay my credit card debt.
-
We are going to buy a new washer, probably a dishwasher, get breaks for our van, go to Wisconsin Dells, and after that I am not sure.
-
well, the smartest thing to do would be for me
to SAVE it... but i've already been thinking of what
i could do:
-contribute to a trip to disney world with discardedheart
(i've never been!)
-new sofa which i desperately need
-new back tires for my car
-gym membership
:dontknow:

As long as we get a refund, which we should, it will be going towards paying down debts like it has for the last five years. There's a good chance after this year's return we could finally be debt free (minus the house and car). If there is some money left over after clearing the debt, it'll either go into some savings account or towards a mini vacation.

I'm a tax preparer and every year I owe money. This year, I'm lucky to get a refund with the new education credits. I love uncle Sam this year.
I will be putting some of that money to pay off the property tax assessment for my home. I hate taxes, but it's part of our life. Getting a refund to pay for another tax. I hate not being able to get back everything I pay into! Not having children doesn't help during the tax season. Tax season is the one time I wish I had 12 children :)

Putting it towards paying of loans, whee.
-
We usually get a good chunk of change back but I'm not sure how much we'll get cause my husband had three jobs last year and didn't make as much money as usual.
We're moving either way but depending on how much we get back, we'll either pay a few bills or pay a few months in rent. We'd like to buy a bigger tv and get a few items of clothes cause we're always too worried about the kids to ever shop for ourselves.
-
I am planning on doing something fun with my kids.
-
paying bills and my wife is starting college fund for our daughter!
-
I am paying bills, and if I have enough left over purchasing a laptop for school.
-
im gonna get me a big mac
-
im gonna get me a big mac
LOL ;D priceless
-
Depending on how much we get, I hope to be able to put a roof over my porches and get gutters.
-
I'm self employed so I will be paying not getting back.
-
with my refund i plan on saving it, but as you know there are always unexpected things popping up that require money so who knows!!
-

hope everyone else enjoys theirs though!
-

As a tax preparer, I have seen larger refunds this year. The Federal Government is giving more refunds for Earned Income Credit and Education Credits. This is the first year that a taxpayer can claim $4000 of education expenses and receive up $2500 refund for the education credit. $1000 of the $2500 is refundable which means that you can pocket this. Of course you have to be a student and have to had spent that amount to claim for the credit. This helped me greatly this year. My refund is mainly due to this credit this year. Other wise, I would be looking at owing taxes are getting back at most $200 for Federal.
California as not as generous to give much refund so don't even plan for the small change.

I think that I am going to start a garage. So this years tax refund will go towards concrete.
-
My refund will only be a few hundred. I prefer to get as close to owing as possible :) It will go into savings.
-
Im going to get my son a new carseat and pay a few months rent in advance!
-
It depends on how much I get
-
Nothing. ima kid. xD
-
I am not totally sure if I'll get a tax refund since I actually owe the government money for making too much money from FC.
-
I'm not getting a refund this year so I guess I don't have to worry about what to do with it.
-
I won't be getting a refund but if I did it would go instantly into my husbands's VA bill for his medication. I would not see a penny of it.
-
I'm getting a crib, baby outgrew the bassinet way too quick and the pak n play's not cutting it
-
Saving it, and putting it towards my next tuition payment for graduate school
-
we got a very nice refund, and a portion of it has already been spent. my husband bought me a brand new laptop (YAY!) and then he took me, our kids, and my 17 year old brother to universal studios for my birthday yesterday. another $200 is going to be spent on the court papers necessary for my husband to legally adopt my son, and the rest will be saved until we move this summer, unless we come across a nice affordable van before then.
