It has been rumored that before Obamas term comes to a end,he will be the most expensive president in americas presidental history. In knowing this, would you still be a supporter of our president in the next 4 year election or would you opt for whom ever his oponent would be?

Considering that his opponent will be an insane Republican, no, certainly not. There's a lot I don't like about Obama, but voting for a Republican is always worse.
This country is screwed either way, but with Dems in power at least it won't be destroyed all at once.

<insert Sarah Palin joke here>
Everyone's so terrified and antagonizing of the future. This makes us weak. I have a lot of criticsm of the president but I'm going to let time tell to see if his ideas work. And we're so correlated in the worlds economy that we aren't going to be destroyed. We're in nothing more than a setback that's going to take a long time to get off of our shoulders. One man isn't going to magically fix it. If enough people really cared about our problems, there'd be a civil war.
Bah...my PC is running slower than Obamas CHANGE!
-
In just one year Obama has increased our national debt more than Bush did his whole term, his budget for year two projects the same extra spending. With the economy the way it is we need a president who is going to reduce spending, not increase it. I am most definitely NOT a supporter of Obama, and would definitely not vote for him. Also remember, the elections aren't just a one on one choice, D or R. There are other candidates, and just because they are lesser supported and unlikely to win, doesn't mean you should exclude them from your considerations.
-
Well, I didn't vote for him the first time and he has not changed my mind for the better.
-
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! didn't vote for him the first time .

from the neo cons to the communist :BangHead:to hell with them all

He's getting my vote! How could he NOT have spent a fortune trying to repair the MESS that was left for him...
-
We are living in unprecedented times now, with the great recession. (which is awfully close to a depression) Things are really changing and things need to be corrected and overhauled. There could be a pullback from some spending, but right now in time, spending is a necessary part of our situation now.
Things are indeed a big mess, but hopefully we can dig ourseleves out of the poor decisions that were made in the past.
The repbulicans are becoming the party of NO. I usually have not been swayed strongly one way or the other, but I am not happy with the republicans at all right now.

This is not a rumor this is the truth. Obama and his band of 1960s era radicals are bent on destroying America from within. Case in point is the passage of that monstrosity of a health care bill. The true purpose of this bill was revealed by Congressman John Dingle who said " It’s taken a long time to ‘control the people’ ". This was never about providing affordable access to health care, it is all about control and power over the people. When the people come to rely on the federal government for everything, then that government controls you and every aspect of your life. Where you live, what you do, what you eat, what you are allowed to drive, etc will all require permission from the almighty federal government. Does this sound like freedom and liberty to you? It doesn't sound like it to me.
I'm not waiting for 2012 to stop him. 2010 elections will turn him into a 'lame duck' president by removing his party's control of congress. Majorities of Americans opposed this bill and yet the Democrats went ahead and passed it. The price they'll pay is being fired from congress and making them look for jobs in the economy they helped create.
I encourage my fellow Americans to vote out all the people who voted for this infringement on our liberty. Vote in freedom loving Americans from the following parties: Republican, Libertarian, Independent in no particular order. Be vigilant and aware what these candidates stand for. We have had enough RINOs like Arlen Specter so simply saying you'll vote Republican isn't enough any more. Vote for people that will respect and govern by the Constitution, not those who pay it lip service just to get elected.

The "mess" you refer to was created by the Democrats beginning with the 2006 mid-term elections. The downturn began around that time. I see no positive progress in any area since they took over, so I can see no reason to reward them with any more power. Time to give some new ideas a chance. Remember in November. Fire all Democrats, Hire Republicans, Libertarians or Independents.
-
I most certainly would vote for him again. If people would remember, before and after he was elected he said that to turn this country around was going to take some time, to turn the economy, was not going to take a few days, weeks or even month's, he also said it may not be turned around by the end of his term but there would be a significant change in the way things were then and it was going to be for the better we would be headed in the right direction. he didn't promise to have everything turned around in the first month or even year after he took office.
-
Let's just give the man a chance, two many people saw something in him or he would not have made it into the whitehouse, i honestly believe the best is yet to come, i have faith in him and i believe that though he would love for the american public to be his friend, he has a job to do and he will not always be popular with the masses. You Go Obama!
-
You can't expect something to be fixed overnight. You can glue a broken vase back together, but those cracks will still be there. There are so many old adages that can be recalled as a response.
There are so many different things I can say about everything I've read in this topic, but all I really feel compelled to say is that I am disappointed.
Look at John McCain's actions in 2000 vs. 2008. He was a completely different person. McCain did such a 360 that he was nearly unrecognizable. Granted, in the 2008 primary, he was only running to lose because after 8 years of dubya, America would have voted for a blind monkey holding a stick as long as they were democrat. And Obama's promises were so tempting because the American public wanted so desperately for someone to care about them...the middle and lower classes. Here we are now, Obama being in the office for a total of 16 months...barely a toddler, and we expected magic from him. We thought that once he was elected, things would magically be better. They're not, so we're going to blame him. :BangHead:
Try going from homeless to mansion overnight. Its not possible. I am not privy to the information Obama knows...I can criticize him until I'm blue in the face, but for all I know, he's doing what's right. It comes down to a personal preference...whether or not I believe he can deliver. And, honestly, the last time I felt that way about a political candidate, the election was stolen from him. I love our rules of governance, and I can do nothing but hope they work, and vote in each election.
-
i will always vote conservative, i will always vote for the president that best represents the upholding of the moral standards i think are important. there are always negatives and positives for every candidate but i feel better knowing i voted for someone who agrees with important moral values.
i didn't vote for him the first time, so i certainly wouldn't vote for him again. he hasn't changed my mind about him in the least.

This was never about providing affordable access to health care, it is all about control and power over the people.
Do you have health insurance? If not, have you tried entering an ER and talking to a doctor about something miniscule like a bad neck ache? You will get 2 bills totalling 700$+ for less than 5 minutes of the doctors time. You will spend a ridiculous amount of time waiting for the doctor and filling out paperwork. They won't even take any X-rays or perform decent tests. This recently happened to me a few weeks back. The doctor rubbed my neck for a few seconds and told me I was fine "take some ibuprofin and relax a few days". Face it- the healthcare industry is so ridiculously screwed up that it's laughable. I have major quarrels with the reform, but the other end of the spectrum is horrfiying bad for those who don't have health insurance. IMO it's a lose-lose situation. One just sounds more tolerable.
I encourage my fellow Americans to vote out all the people who voted for this infringement on our liberty. Vote in freedom loving Americans from the following parties: Republican, Libertarian, Independent in no particular order.
I agree with Lib and Ind- we truly need to try it. But Republican? Nah.
Look at John McCain's actions in 2000 vs. 2008. He was a completely different person. McCain did such a 360 that he was nearly unrecognizable.
I KNOW! And he's still flipflopping like never before now!

Well put.
i will always vote for the president that best represents the upholding of the moral standards i think are important.
I'm curious...did you vote for Bush in either of the two elections? If not, would you have?

Well, I didn't vote for him the first time and he has not changed my mind for the better.
I couldn't have said it better myself!!

I don't know what to say here. I haven't listened to Rush Limbaugh or fox news today. Church isn't til Sunday so I don't know what my political opinion will be yet. Sorry. But I can say this.... at least George W Bush had a birth certificate. Also, illegal aliens took my job.
-
i didnt vote for him this time I wont vote for him next time. personally prefer the republican point of view at this point, conservative spending and more conservative points of order are needed to keep us from spiraling into oblivion.

Don't mind if I do....
What's the difference between Sarah Palin's mouth and her vagina?.....
ONLY one retarded thing has come out of her vagina!

No, actually this last election was the first election I decided to vote in. I didn't pay much attention to presidential elections until Bush's second running and even then I was very under informed as to the finer details of their platforms. I was gunning for a Bush re election based on what little information I had.
This time I paid closer attention, and even though there are things I disliked about McCain I still voted for him.

Agreed Mega Man. And they are allowed to spew hate and racism and ignorance. But challenge their views and they get really sensitive.
-
why put President Obama down so hard, why blame him for the deficit. Everyone was ready for President Bush to get out of office cause of all the mess that he put America in and left it like that now President Obama comes in behind a mountain of trouble, confusion, headaches, etc and everyone expects him to perform a miracle just like that. He is not God. Remember, like they say,"Rome wasn't built in on day".give the man a break.

Bush left an economic disaster and two unneccessary, expensive wars in his wake. Considering that crazy right wing legislators fight Obama no matter what he does, he's been doing a job. If McCain were president, this country would have 25% unemployment and breadlines. Thanks to Obama, nearly everyone will have affordable health care and at least a measure of protection from corporate racketeering. Thanks to Obama, 160,000 teachers and firefighters will continue to serve their communities instead of being pink-slipped. Every time you drive a newly-repaired, widened freeway, you should thank Obama. Turn off that right-wing yammering and read a respectable newspaper like the L.A. or New York Times to get detailed, accurate information about what's really happening in your country!!!!!

There are 2 things that got Obama elected:
1) He was NOT Caucasian
2) He was NOT Republican
The way I see it, right now the blame would be falling on Bush and Republicans even if a bulldog was sitting in the Oval Office. If a bulldog had the ability to run for office, the number of uninformed voters we have in this country would have voted him in just to do something/anything different - regardless of how inept a job he would do by putting him at the helm.
Being eloquent and passionately using the word 'change' are not qualifications for running what used to be the strongest, most respected country in the world.
-
Yes We Can!
-
There are 2 things that got Obama elected:
1) He was NOT Caucasian
.
He isn't black either! He is: Mulatto
Mulatto denotes a person with one white parent and one black parent, or more broadly, a person of mixed black and white ancestry
Did I say he was black? No.
I know what mulatto is. Do not need your little lesson.
As usual, what is your point?
Aren't you supposed to be working on 'proof' of your full blooded Indian ancestry (yeah, right) for walksalone?
-
Their all the same. Rich and now want to be famous for running America more into the hole.
-
Like Obama continously states that he walked into this deficit and it's going to take more than overnight to get out. I believe in him and I'm willing to give him a chance. I don't understand how people can honestly think he could undo what has been done in 8 years in the 18 months he's been office.
