I'm going to go see it for sure. The trailers look great and it sounds like they did it right...
"In an interview, producer Brad Fuller initially explained that they are following the same line they did with their Friday the 13th remake, by abandoning the things that made the character less scary—the film's antagonist, Freddy Krueger, will not be "cracking jokes" as had become a staple of his character in later films—and focusing more on trying to craft a "horrifying movie"." - Wikipedia
"Craven is a smart guy and there's a deeper meaning in his movies. It's definitely not a standard slasher film. This is a movie that you can mention to people and their jaws drop. And not because I'm redoing it, but because of that franchise, that character, had a profound effect on their childhood. And not just for horror fans. I hear things like, 'Freddy scared the hell out of me.' I think what I want to do and what everyone involved wants to do is re-invent the character for a new generation, I think I'd be happy if people welcome this and at the same time see we're going off on a slightly different path, but if you follow the DNA of it, it goes all the way back to the first movie." — Samuel Bayer on remaking A Nightmare on Elm Street.

It looks awesome. This guy is being typeccast as characters with stockings on their heads now with Watchmen and this movie!

yes me
-
yeah i wanna see that soooooo bad
-
No, I outgrew this sort of thing after I was in my teens, they are just a bunch of remakes, ran out of ideas's and keep bringing somene back, they have brought freddy back more than stephano on days of our lives, and they call him the pheonix.
-
I don't think I'll be watching this movie because I don't like scary movies. :o
-
I am definitely going to go see this when it comes out. LOVE the scary movies!

im going to see it in theaters

Why bother rushing out to see it in the movies? I mean its a remake and most of the time the remakes are not nearly as good as the original. Why can't the movie industry come out with a new and original movie and leave the classics alone?
-
I'm kinda impressed ...good look for the new freddy less comical and more WTF creeps me out type freeddy ..too bad we all know what happens @ the end
-
I loved the originals when I was a kid, so I'll probably watch it when it comes out on DVD.

There should be a way to thumbs up comments or +1'ing them cause I would definitely thumbs up this one.
-
well the character is abit odd... i like original better
-
It seems like a good movie but a repeat of all the other movies...we know whats going to happen. I am going to wait until its out on dvd!
-
I don't watch any of these movies. They aren't interesting to me in the slightest. They're like hardcore rollercoaster rides. What's the point if you just feel like you're going to die the whole time? Same with scary movies, you only go to get the rush or possibly make fun of it or try to act cool and not be scared. They just don't interest me. To each their own though. ;D
-
I'm afraid it'll just be an excuse to show soft *bleep* in a movie theatre like most of the recent remakes have been. Friday the 13th, My *bleep* Valentine, you know--with all the nudeness and such.
I'd like to see it...just kinda scared to lol.
-
not sure yet im more comedy or action type
-
Well, yes since I do have discount to a couple movie theaters, I guess I could go see this movie!
