I have done part-time work, mystery shopping. I love it - I can work when I feel like it, not schedule anything when I don't....I like the freedom it offers. Not a full-time income, but if you are interested, there are many sites out there on the subject. Just don't pay for them.

You know how when you call a 1-800 number and are directed to real person to place an order for products seen on tv? Like HSN and QVC? You can answer those phone calls FROM home by becoming a West agent.

The site I have used to find the legit mystery shopping companies is Volition. They have a daily list of sites to check that post their jobs online, and links to sign up for the legit companies directly. Very nice list, they even tell which ones work in which states, etc.

I'm a 55 year old granny that is just finishing up some refresher courses in college.  :BangHead: Request of the local employment resource office.   ($8,000+)  Go in to look for employment and told nothing available I would qualify for.  :confused1:  :dontknow: >:(
Here I am driving myself nuts doing homework, going to classes, living on grant money and told nothing available :angry7:

I've written down the sites people have mention in this forum.   Wish my luck.

Working at home is what I want as it is just Skye (blue eyed Siberian Husky), Snowball (white domestic cat) and myself. Family don't have time to socialize with me and my brother and his financee work 12 hour shifts so I can work when I can't sleep or am bored. I mean a person can only handle watching so much TV and the same commercials over and over and over again.  ::)

I would love to find a really good one so I could make some extra income. I do some things now on the internet but nothing pays me tons of money.  I wish I could make an extra $500 a month.  That would be great.

There area lot of typing jobs out there if you know how to type, I don't know if we can post them here or suggest a company. You don't have to know transcription either or pay to type. Keep using this forum it will bring you in some money.

There is a company that you can type up voice messages, you can get paid too I did, quicktate.

Have anyone tried mturk you get paid this is an Amazon company, you get paid by doing task. They call them HITs (human intelligent tasks). You just help the requester out with their jobs. Something like go to this website and find the email address. You get paid a certain amount. I have seen from one cents up to 20.00 dollars or more. Also they have transcription you can do to. They pay you too. No schedule work you just log in sign up and work when ever you want or how long you  want for that day or every day.  :peace:

Not sure if anyone is going to get back to this but I wanted to suggest selling make-up or other products. Places like Mary Kay, Avon, Scentsy, Tupperware, and Pampered Chef are always looking for people to sell their product. :) I don't have enough discipline or sales know how to be able to really work it but I have friends and family that do and they are all happy with their choice!

Selling Mary Kay, Avon etc will only make you as much money as you want it to. I know a couple of people that sell it only to friends or family members just to get the discounts that they offer to sellers (basically the product is 50% off for you and you sell it at full price to make 50% profit). Another friend I know could make a full-time income if she applied herself all 12 months of the year, she is a teacher and only really works her business during the summer months BUT she does do orders for regular customers all throughout the year just doesn't look for new ones until summer. With a full time working of her business she could easily make $1500 to $2000 a month.

Someone asked about MTurk up-thread.... I have recently started it (from this posts suggestion actually LOL) and it seems to be working just fine. My HITs have been getting approved in a timely manner and there is plenty of transcription work available for people who like to do that. There are also plenty of HITs that deal with website verification and such. I haven't switched my money over to an Amazon gift card yet but  I don't imagine that I will have a problem doing it.

I wish FC had some new offers, LOVE FC but I have a hard time getting referrals and wish that there was more I could do so that I could cash out more often. :)

There are 1000's of "opportunities" out there, but be very careful becuase MANY OF THEM ARE SCAMS. I'm presently involved in 3 opportunities that pay well, but you have to work at it. I hope much success for you in your search for a home business.

I've worked with Arise,  they are customer service from home job. There is money to be made the only thing is that you do have to put money in, become a cooperation and pay to be taught. You do need a QUIET location to work, you set your own schedule. I liked it but the only thing is i only did it for extra money during the holiday season. I was working full time and working on my MBA... well, when i decided to go back to work for them THEY lost all my information i would have to pay all over again like if i were a new employee. i said NO TY. so if you want something for long term that you are not looking to have close to a 1 stint this could work for you.

For anyone interested in mystery shopping:
Here are 3 companies that are completely legit! No up front money to be able to see available assignments.

Corporate Research International...pay weekly either thru PayPal or direct deposit. They give you "training tests" that are different for each company. You can shop places like Lowe's, Bed Bath, & Beyond, Exxon, etc. Most jobs require a small purchase (about $1-$5) You can pick and choose from their listings of jobs in your area.

Market Force Research...pay monthly thru direct deposit. They focus mostly on fast food. You follow their instructions on what to do, order etc. You have to pay for your meal(s) but you will be reimbursed for it plus earn a fee.

Certified Field Associates...pays monthly thru direct deposit. This company is mostly merchandising. You get to pick your assignments which are usually  things like sit in on  a movie and check for trailers, check lobby for signage, etc...also go into stores and restock things like cards, DVDs, replace stickers on products ...

Hope this helps!

As soon as they verify your SSN they will give you the all-clear on starting their "training." Basically you just watch a short video or read the process for shopping each different company. Once you pass you can do a search by zip code and you can enter in how many miles you want to look from where you are. I live in a semi rural place too. The good thing about it is that if it's a shop that no one else signs up for, they will increase the pay on it!

Good luck!

Yes, most of the shops have low payouts, but they do increase the rates every few weeks if a shop hasn't been picked. Plus, when you think about it, most shops only take about 15-20 minutes so that's $4 + reimbursement for just a few minutes out of your day. It works out great if you're going somewhere you would've gone anyway, like the gas station or the grocery store.

Another company to sign up with is mymysteryshop.com....they will send you emails for shops in your area and they sometimes have higher paying ones. Freeman Group Slutions does a lot of hotel shops that pay pretty well but you have to pay for the room up front and get reimbursed later.

I do sewing at home and make a little extra cash and a few sites I make a few bucks .... like fusion cash ... I love these sites.  Some I only get gift certificates but I'll take a $25 - $50 walmart gift certificate ... (many other to choose from but walmart gets so much of my money I always choose that one).

Those mystery shopping places always seem to want to have money up front to sign up for their service.  I don't like that.  Are any of these sites the kind that don't require you to pay before you start?
