Looks like me and 500 of my coworkers will be out of a job soon. Just found out late last night our company who is already in chapter 11 bankruptcy lost a major lawsuit with the company that basically employs us. They've been wanting to cancel our contract for a while which wasn't supposed to be up until 2012. The judge initially ruled in our favor months ago but just reversed his decision.
I'm off the next few days so I don't know what's going to happen when I get back. I imagine it will be gradual and I will be working for just a little while longer since I don't think they will just stop everything right away and leave passengers stranded. The slight upside is that I may be able to get transferred to another base. They may need to fill in the gaps for the other part of the company that is still operating. I'm not at the very bottom of seniority but I am close enough.
We just hired about 10 new people and actually needed more because we were understaffed and had to turn down work! Can we sue CEO's that purposely run their companies into the ground!? He's made and is still making millions where we are the ones being hung out to dry. There ought to be a law.
I really need to step up my game with my online side jobs. I've been really lazy doing the sites since I was really busy working. Well off to do some offers.
Oh yeah yesterday I found a dollar on the street and I was going to use it to play the lotto, lol!

I hope you have been able to find another job. The unemployment rate in Georgia hasn't made any change at all since the company my husband worked at started letting people go. I feel really lucky he has been able to not only find a new job but an even better one then before. I know allot of other people out there have not been as lucky. I hope that the job scene will improve soon though.

Thankfully for now I have been able to keep my job in fact they have been working me and others like a slave because we are short but I'm making good money in overtime because of it. My base is closing as of the end of August. Some people are getting laid off while some are taking voluntary furloughs, some have already quit or are going to quit and the rest of us are going to other bases. It will be a lot better for me because where I am going is closer to home and I will actually be able to drive to work. Only time will tell so in the mean time I am saving my money and trying to pay down my debt while I can. I'll worry about starting over when I absolutely have to.
