I saw this on the news yesterday and it really made me want to throw up. It's this latest "fad" called Sack Tapping. It is where teen age guys are going around punching other teenage guys in their "private area" while recording the whole thing on video and then putting it up on YouTube for everyone to "get a laugh" out of. Here is my thought.
It was reported on the news that some teenagers are having to go in for MAJOR Surgery because of this. Teenagers who want this done to them by "their friends" just "for laughs" are NOT going to think it's so funny when they find out that if they have to go in for surgery, the insurance companies probably are NOT going to cover that. Then who do you think will get stuck paying the thousands in medical bills for the surgery and the hospital stay?. That's right...The PARENTS! If they have to pay for something like that, their parents are going to be livid! I think, teenage guys are doing this because they are just bored with life and they have nothing else to do with their time. Sad! :crybaby2: What do you think? :dontknow:

This has been around for a long time, just a big deal now because of the internet and video access that kids have. It is idiotic and dangerous, what else is there to 'think of it'?
There are a lot of injuries to the groin from skateboarding and other activities, but they are not intentionally inflicted.
As far as this: "Teenagers who want this done to them by "their friends" just "for laughs" are NOT going to think it's so funny when they find out that if they have to go in for surgery, the insurance companies probably are NOT going to cover that. I have NO idea how you came up with that though. If the kids are insured, the insurance covers it. They cover injuries from fights, falling off roofs, and every other 'stupid' act of minors. They cannot disallow coverage simply because it was incurred while doing something "just for laughs".

Teenagers (esp. boys) always tend to find stupid stuff to try out that may cause serious injury. At that age, they feel invincible, and want to prove their "manliness" by pushing the extremes of their stunts. I know we used to crush soda cans on our foreheads, until one idiot decided to try to do that with an unopened can and gave himself a concussion. I'm sure the added "fame" of making a viral video out of it on the internet has just fueled this trend.

yeah this was the thing to do even in the 70's when i was a kid it is nothing new., just a stupid thing for teens to try just, what, to impress their own age group. I'm certaintly not impressed.

its just another sign of the problems with this generation. when i was a teenager i wasn't running around doing dumb stuff like this because i had a job and hobbies. it seems today that a lot of teenagers lack the motivation to do anything with themsleves, 2 teenage boys in my family come to mind, at 18 not being in school, no drivers licenses, no jobs. they sleep til noon, play video games, and expect mommy and daddy to take care of them forever. so of course they have time to do stupid stuff like this and put it on the internet. i swear i will do everything in my power to stop my son from becoming one of these teenagers!

Yes this has been around for along time jsut making another debut. My crazy family has been doing that for years and its stupid as you know what. People find it funny for some reason. Its always showing up on America's Funniest Home Video's. :BangHead: :dontknow:

now that i think about it, i have a cousin that has been doing this ever since the 2nd (or 3rd) american pie movie came out. he asks what the capital of thailand is and when you answer bangkok that what he does. another sign that the human race is doomed

One of these days that fad is going to get out of control and someone will die. Its not fun or funny. Its stupid, ignorant and just plain moronic.

That is the dumbest think I ever heard of I have three grandsons and I am sure they will never do that If I have any thing to say about it. I know you cannot watch your kids 24/7 but you can inspire confidence and give them options so they have the guts to tell their so called friends to get lost Who thinks of these things Americas video show is nuts some of the things they show are truly funny but some are stupid and send the wrong message laughing at anyone else's pain is not funny To want someone to hit you I would be wondering why would you want anyone to hit you that is dumb dumber dumbest
-
Well that's stupid. Surely there are more entertaining and less painful things to do.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if Sack Tapping would be made into a video game. ::)

Another sign of the deterioration of society as a whole! What a sick world we live in.

Teenagers and young adults just do not understand the possible serious consequences of such behavior. Much of it just boils down to immaturity.
