Title: White Smoke~white glue
Post by: rondrond on July 04, 2010, 06:47:44 am
I have downloaded and been credited for White Smoke translator. It has hijacked my computer, put up a toolbar and made itself at home. I have uninstalled it and it still is there..not exactly looking to have my home screen redecorated, but at least it still works ::)

Might have to do a "system restore to an eariler time" and reboot - you might give that a try.

When you installed it, you should have done the "Advanced/Custom" installation and NOT installed the toolbar, made it your homepage, and main browser. That is how I did it and had no problems. There should be a way that you can still go in and customize it to get rid of the options you don't want. Not sure what OS you have, so not sure where to tell you to go, but can guarantee there is a way. Do some hunting around your profile and account settings within the White Smoke program.

Try a system restore to just before you did the download and it should be back to normal.  There should be a way to disable the toolbar by right clicking in the toolbar area and click diable but only after you reselect your home page.
Reguardless you can do system restore to fix it over all.  Go into your program files and remove the toolbar then the translator if you don't want it.  Hope helps this is what my sis always has me do when problems happen cause I got 2 boys so there are always problems.  lol...  good luck!
