Title: What do you think about meeting someone in the Internet?

Today is kind a difficult to trust in people

Bottom line up front:  I think it is very dangerous and not smart at all.  It is like you and me right now.  I don't know you and you don't know me.  I could tell that I was CEO of Sears and you might believe me.  You could tell me you were the CEO of AVON and I could believe you.  It it just plain dumb!!  Sorry if I hurt your feelings, but it is how I feel.   :thumbsup:

my sister (who is gay) me my SISTER IN LAW thru MYSPACE! :) and they are happy as can be!!!

you just cant go on EVERY date someone offers u, you have to get to know them talk a while and see maybe u will be as happy as my sister! :)

i'm glad they met!

i've met people personally from the internet and still friends.
you have to go with your gut.

I met my now-husband  :heart: through the internet, and I've also made a few friends through it. You just have to be smart about it.  :cat:

I think it is ok to meet people online jus dnt give up any information that a person could find out where you stay.

I see it as a "your mileage may vary" situation...people in real life can lie their pants off just as well as people in cyberspace.  I've met lots of friends online, with a few bad apples...no different than being out here.  I always recommend using something like www.hidemyass.com if you want a bit more stealth.

I don't think it's too cool. You never know who you're 'talking' to. I always think about the Craigslist Murderer...people look for ways to find people. The internet just makes it so much easier to be someone else.

There are always good experiences and bad experiences. Its hard to get to know someone over the computer, you have to meet them to truly get to know them. But you gotta be careful. meet in a public place and see how it goes.

some people seem very eager to meet off the internet but i've always been leery.
