Title: artificial or real fingernails?
Post by: tigerlilly01 on October 29, 2010, 04:52:26 am
I have never had fake nails and I really don't want them ... too expensive and they damage your own nails. I have enough problems with my nails as they are.

We have natural treatment for nails that is mehendi usually east side country shops will have it. It turns your nail red in color but it is good for nails. Just try and google it for more information. You can get it very easily. People even put it to hair

real.  without question.  no desire for acrylics or gels after having watched the troubles my friends have had, not mention the expense of upkeep.  egads.

I like artificial, only because my nails break and i can never grow them long! & I think they make my hands look better.

Fake nails are not good for you.  I went to nail school and believe me they damage your real nails.  when you apply the fake ones your natural nails loose the ability to breathe properly and tend to get infected or disintegrate.  if you must have fake ones my advice would be to get silk wrap nails.  they are the lesser of the evils.

I can't stand people with dragon lady long fingernails. And yes wearing fake nails will yellow and damage your natural nails.

I prefer my real nails. I used to wear fake ones, but I would always break one or two ... so annoying having to find time to get one nail fixed. The upkeep for me got expensive

I do a lot of work with my hands, and have problems with fungal infections.  Fake nails just aren't an option for me.  But I do think they're cute.

i had acrylic nails for my wedding -- they were impossible to maintain - my  real nails grow fast and tend to curl at the end - I could easily get them filled weekly due to that -- very expensive

Au naturel is always best. For me caring for fingernails is quick and easy and it doesn’t have to be expensive. I just clip and file my nails with the nail filer. I never use anything artificial. I don’t recommend biting them. If nails are brittle, it’s a clear indication of poor nutrition.

Do not use artificial fingernails!...unless it is a special party. Take good care of your real ones. Make sure you feed them good oils and proteins...you will be happy at the results!

I've never had fake nails and don't want them. I've seen coworkers trying to get them off at work because one or two of them fall off and it looks like a pain. And they make your nails look funky when you do get them off cause of the glue. Doesn't look healthy.

I use to wear fake nails a long time ago.  But they are hard to work in and would fall off and then they would look a mess.  My own nails grow out ot a certain lenght now and look a whole lot better.

Very few acrylics look real or good.  I like natural.  I can't believe so many people spend so much money on something like this!!

I tihnk naturally slightly long nails are best.  I think its *bleep* hilarious when some preppy girl has on fake nails and then they cant pick up and/or use a pencil, push 90 buttons on the cash register as the ring you up, or break them  :-X

I prefer natural nails.

Personally I think the long fake nails look "fake".  I do not think they are appealing at all.

As a man I think they look good. I also think you can save a lot of money polishing you nails at home, and changing the color more often without paying $15 - $25.

Artificial nails rarely look good; most people do them wrong by getting ones that are way too big and end up looking like a scary, creepy lady.  I personally have never tried them because my nails are great on their own.  I think they are just one more example of unnecessary superficiality.

I stick with my real nails. I don't like fakes cuz you can rip off part of the real nail if the fake 1 breaks or when you take them off.

I've had both but have never figured out a way to get rid of a split in one nail that I've had for years. :(

I have had "fake" nails several times, and I really didn't like them at all. Yes, they looked very nice but i do not keep my natural nails very long so i had a very hard time with doing normal everyday tasks. not to mention that it totally ruined my natural nails and takes forver for them to grow back

I have always had long nails. Sure they break but grow back even longer like now.  I have seen what the artificial nails can do your nails and its really gross and looks unhealthy.

Artificial are too costly for the upkeep, and it takes months for your real nails to recoop after having the fakes taken off, Real for me from now on!

I prefer artificial. I am a pianist and constantly break my nails if I don't have the artificial ones.
