Title: Daily Cash Email Captcha Is Blank
Post by: MessiahMews on December 23, 2010, 02:50:01 am
Can somebody fix?

For two days, I haven't been able to do the daily cash email due to the captcha being blank.  I've tried several times, refresh, close, reboot browser, refresh captcha to get a new thing.  NOTHING.

Please Fix ASAP.

Anyone else having this problem?  Here's a screen shot of it.

This happens to me once.  Click on the captcha refresh link ( little double arrow under the word Solve).  This brought up another security check (for me) and I was able to proceed.

Hope it works for you.

No, it didn't.  That was the FIRST thing I tried doing.

The only thing you didn't mention is clear your cookies and temps.

I have my pop-up blocker on and the captcha still comes up, so I don't thing that would be the problem.
I use Windows 7 and IE 8 and don't have a problem.  Haven't tried it with Firefox.  What browser/OE are you using?

I use IE 8 for daily cash email, because it would NEVER work in Firefox.

Anyway, it finally sorted itself out, so have no idea what it was that caused it.  :dontknow:

It was like that for about 4 days.

Try using Mozilla Firefox and if that doesn't work then delete all cookies and history close out of the browser and try again. I hope this helps! Have a great day!  :D

Now it's blank again.  It doesn't help to clear cookies and cache.  I've done that over and over and over again.

Daily cash email NEVER works in Firefox, which is why I have to use it in IE.

I can do PTC in Firefox with no problem.

Do you have problems with the capcha with the $.15 daily?  Or is this happening only with the paid email?

You mentioned that you're using IE8.  What operating system?  What type of internet connection do you have?  What security system are you using?

Do you have toolbars?

Is there anything that you added to your system right before the problem started?  Any change that occurred between the time it didn't work and then did and then failed again?

I'm grasping at straws.  But maybe this might help someone more knowlegable with PC ops to help you.

No changes.  There is NOTHING wrong with my computer.  Everything else works.  The PTC works just fine.

The CAPTCHA is blank, and has NOTHING to do with my computer.  And when it does work, I get that remote banned ip thing.

Everytime something goes wrong, the first thing everyone wants to do is blame our computers.

Other people have apparently had the problem too, so I don't think that everyone has a computer problem.

It gets scanned almost constantly, cookies and all temp stuff deleted.  The usual toolbar is FC toolbar, and I KNOW that doesn't affect it, because it worked fine before.

Actually, the new captcha system IS the problem.  THAT is the only thing that changed, not my computer.

The old captcha was fine as it was, and then they had to go change it, and now the daily cash email has to be done over a dozen times before I can get my 2 cents.

It's something that FC needs to fix, not me.  I would be grateful once they get it fixed.

The only thing I can think of is that there's a problem with your IP address.  We haven't had any complaints like this from anyone else.  I have asked SolveMedia about your IP and will let you know what they say.

That was fast!

If the user sees a blank image, tell him to use hit the refresh button on our TYPE-IN box.  We are working out a bug to prevent the blank box, it's happening with one of our creatives (The gold's gym creative).

The reason for a banned IP message would be a certain user is hitting the refresh button to many times without filling out one of the CAPTCHAs.  That message should clear after a few hours.  That is our system protecting your site against a potential spam threat.

Thanks Admin.  It's an intermittent thing.  I finally get the credit after trying a bunch of times.

This is the error msg I encounter sometimes, after clicking the blank so many times, and then I will finally get an image only to give me this after clicking on ad, which does open into a new page.

Sorry, there was a problem with the text you entered: banned remoteip

Please go back and try again.

Yeah, the refresh didn't always work either.  So at least someone is working out the bug.   Appreciate it all of you.

I'm still not able to get my daily cash email thing done.  It takes at least 20 tries over the course of an hour or more.

I've about resigned to the fact that it's just not meant for me to do daily cash email.  :-[

We already figured out there's a bug causing blank captchas, and also that refreshing it too many times causes a remote banned ip thing.  But if I don't refresh, then I'll never get a captcha.  It takes refreshing several times, because ONCE isn't enough.

Maybe go back to the old captcha only temporarily until the bug is fixed?

Is this going to be fixed soon?

Since thousands of people are successfully completing the DCE each day, we wont be switching back to the old system.  I'm sorry that you're experiencing difficulties, and I hope they are resolved soon - but this bug is outside of our control, and it's the holiday season so it's likely to take a while before it's fixed.

If you're spending that much time on it, I think you should hold off for maybe 5-7 days before you try again.

Actually, I did even better.  I right clicked on the blank area, and grabbed the properties of the pic URL that is supposed to be there, paste it into a new tab, and viola!  IT WORKED!!!

http://api.solvemedia.com/papi/media?c=1@08.J0tEhDKewize2fnyVZS1MOYTIKtxg@XCUCuyCY1bVEw4p2EOvIp8Fw6q5lVOA.MIY2023RDk5RribyTFTlK5l20CZ2ME.RR0EtM4cjNRjSMFBYIRalw2jGxX2WbBdoO2DkxxxjZhK3.McYVoVjNBk7ervLNHnoKcAvwNYqxoFkFnfkdZ24xle958Epgpz0IILeaORmw14QMSWwFNLjlRSFLSF7rVHA;w=300;h=150;fg=000000;bg=ffffff

But what it happening is that it is redirecting to the blank image of this URL...

http://api.solvemedia.com/media/blank.gif

So maybe that will help determine the problem.  Anyway, I'm glad I was able to at least do that.  I don't give up that easily.  Bwauhahaha

If you load the captcha image outside of the context where it was generated, that is likely to trigger anti-abuse systems, which explains both the 'banned-remoteip' and 'hash-fail' errors you received.

Each captcha view is coupled with a unique hash key.  When you generate a new image in a new tab, it also invalidates your prior hash key and generates a new one.  So when you submit the old one in the initial tab, the hash key is already invalid (even if you enter the proper text).

Unfortunately you're probably going to have to wait this one out...

Oh, I was getting the remote banned ip thingy long before viewing the image.  I think someone had said it was because of clicking it too many times to try to refresh it.

Hope you guys get it fixed soon.

But you'll be happy to know that the past two days, it's worked fine on its own and on the FIRST try like it's supposed to.

*Gimme a pat on the back.  :P
