Title: Do you clean out your refrigerator before every grocery store trip?

I have to admit that I don't do that.  Every once in a while I find something that has gone beyond the expiration date, and have to toss it.  I really try to use the food in my refrigerator before I buy new.

 :sad1: I try to on the friday before my usual day of grocery shoppng on saturday. I must admit that I some-times don't get to it though. Then on those days, I find myself fighting to get the stuff I just brought home into the refrigerator. I really hate it when I have those kind of days! I 've got stuff piled up on the counters and I have to take the time to search through the frig. before I can put it all up. My refrigerator is a small apt. size and I can't fit alot in it anyhow! :wave:

i have had food poisoning ( botulism ecoli ) Not from my house,  but it has made me paranoid so I keep it super clean and toss food to the dogs REAL regular...   NEVER want to experience food poisoning again

yes i do that. we will do groceries shop for every two weeks and i will clean all the stuff and throw away if there are any expired goods

Yes, I clean out my frig of all expired food before every grocery trip.  I don't want my family to get sick from eating bad food.

Yes I do every two week before I  go grocery shopping. I don't want to make my family sick.

we grocery shop about every three weeks and by
that time, there's really not a lot left to throw out of
the fridge. however, we DO have to re-arrange everything
each time we go grocery shopping.

i have a weird thing about eating/drinking the last drop of
things. my fiance, however, will scrape the container!
if we've just bought something new (like a bottle of ranch)
and we're down to just a spoonful, i'll throw the old bottle
out...

It is very rare for any food in our refrigerator to go bad before it is completely consumed.  However, a few times a year I take a look at dates on things like condiments and items not really used often/every day.  Occasionally I'll find something which is past its shelf life.
