Title: Do you like winter?

Post by: Lucieloo on January 31, 2011, 08:17:42 pm: I have seen on the news about winter in the north. Here in the south it was pretty bad, we are not use to weather like it was. Schools were closed for 2-4 days and the snow was ok but it was icy.

I hate cold weather I prefer warm weather. I used to live in a place warm and wherever I end up it's going to be someplace warm all year.

i love winter for the snow and change in temperature, hot gets old fast, but so does winter. but its great!

I was like a kid at Christmas when it snowed but now we have had such bad weather and alot of snow here in the south that I can't wait till spring gets here. I have not missed any work yet as I live in town and they keep the roads clear. But we have had so many people call in and not be able to get to work because they live out in the country. I think the snow can be very pretty and it is fun to play in it when it isn't so cold. My family likes to make snow creatures when the snow is sticky.

But this winter is way too cold.

Post by: mawhite63 on February 02, 2011, 03:25:50 am: I have a really low tolerance for cold. I used to live in Boston and the winters were really hard on me. I just moved to Memphis from Boston, and it seems like I got out at the right time. My friends up there have really been hit so hard.

It's cold here, but nothing like up north.

I am SOOOO *bleep* tired of snow!!! I miss the beach and the warm and the thunderstorms... I officially hate winter... I miss you Florida

I would have to move to Puerto Rico or Florida for real. The only thing I like is that I'm not sweating profusely. I definitely hate in winter that everything I touch gives me an electric shock. I give a kiss to my husband. BAM an electric shock. It's horrible. Stay away from rugs and suede material. Lol!

Although this last month we have received between 4 6 inches of snow three times in less than two weeks. Highly unusual. Even though it doesn't stay cold for very long, I do not like winter.

I hate the cold when I have to get out. The snow is beautiful as long as I can stay in & look out - but that is near impossible especially when you not only have your appointments etc., but are a care taker (for my brother) & are responsible for getting them to their appointments, shopping etc. I am blessed to be able to do things for him, but come on warm weather so we can walk to some of the doctors & just enjoy being outside.

I HATE WINTER!

what state is that? i know February is prolly the worst months in winter. Here in florida cough and cold is abundant bcoz of the changing weather...

Our snow banks are so high that you can't see the cars driving by your house. It was very mild and rainy this weekend so we finally got rid of some snow. Dont mind winter too much but this one seems endless!

My sentiments exactly! It seems where I live that it's going to be ongoing. It's so cold and stormy, rainy, for as long as the weather can be predicted (next 10 days). I for one long for some warm Spring weather. Don't mind the dry cold, but this damp humidity cold goes right to the core.....brrrr.

While it snows on the Big Island (and sometimes Maui) on the higher slopes, we have never traveled to see the snow there. I know my father hates the cold weather and the snow and the headaches associated with snow tires, frozen pipes and loss of work because of snow days. I would have to say that yes, I like the winter. As a matter of fact, I enjoy all four seasons when I can enjoy them. Here, we have Spring and Summer. That's about it.

Now I live in Orlando - a complete change. While Florida still gets cold, I guess it's a 'chill' in comparison to the Windy City. I've been down here with my family for a little over 7 years now and I think I've grown accustom to their cold. So any slight 'chill' is considered cold to me. I don't think I could last very long in Chicago. That's not good, being that I'm moving to Canada! (Well, Newfoundland isn't as bad as other provinces, so I heard. I hope that's true!)

I think being prepared for the cold is the better thing. I've learned that down here in Orlando. While I don't have to deal with snow right now, all I have to do is keep warm. I'm a bicyclist, so that is a MUST. I'm willing to tackle any types of weather if it means doing what I love to do and being where I'm suppose to be in life. But by the way, it's the excessive HEAT that I really dislike now! lol

But it is a hassel i live in chicago and last winter we had no school 3 days and were trapped in our houses I actually liked it, it is something i will never forget but overall driving and having a car in winter is no fun shoveling if it was not for shoveling and having a car i would enjoy much more

to me am a fall guy but i can deal with the winter better than i can with the summer you can walk around out side and stay warm but no walk around in the summer and stay cool.

to me am a fall guy but i can deal with the winter better than i can with the summer you can walk around out side and stay warm but no walk around in the summer and stay cool.

I remember visiting them, when I was a kid, and not being able to see the houses over the snow plow banks as we drove down the street. They made the news again this last winter due to the heavy snow.

I liked playing in the snow when I was a kid, but hated waiting for the bus, in winter, when I was in high school. Now my joints really don't like the cold and I'm quite glad to be living in central New Mexico where the winters are mild.

As a photographer I love winter scenery, especially the cool sight of snow covered cactus and yucca, but I don't even own a snow shovel. Any snow we get is usually gone by mid day. :)

If by north you mean new england, then yes, this past year has been rough. the snow is one thing, but the ice storms are ridiculous. we lose power for weeks at a time, and it's not pleasant without a generator.
