i got 2 beautiful girls 5 grand children and 1 great grand daughter i am very proud of them also but i told my oldest to slow down with the kids i am 50 now and i apprecitate having each and everyone of them put i feel like they are trying to compete with the rest of my family they all have more kids then i ever wanted i love them but i feel like this why bring kids into the world that we live in with all the turmoil that is going on    :star: :star:

I don't have kids and I never had a desire to have any. There are already enough people in the world and I can't think of a good enough reason to have any. I like my freedom.

I have two cjildren and have wanted them more than anything else in the world. They have given me a new lease on life with the experiences we share daily. I didn't know I had such a capacity for love until I had kids. I wanted kids more than a marriage only because husbands and wives never seem to last but kids are forever. In the everchanging world which we live in I would still tell people to have children as long as they are willing to give everything they have to insure the children's growth and happiness.

i agree with all of that although when i was younger
i thought i wanted kids. as i get older i've realized
that i do not. and not because the world is a
"terrible place" or anything, i just personally don't
want to be burdened with the entire concept of
that much responsibility.
i like kids and making such a finalized decision at 24
seems like a premature, unstable argument because
of how much life changes.
maybe i'm selfish :dontknow: but i'd rather know now
than wait until i have children to find out how selfish
i really am.

I have two.A boy and a girl.I love them and I honestly feel that two is the right amount for me.

Everyone is selfish. But don't say you are selfish just because you know you don't want kids and people who do are unselfish. To me it's selfish to just have kids just because you want them without thinking what kind of life they are going to have. It's selfish when you don't have a job or a decent place to live when you decide you're just going to go on welfare so other people can pay you to take care of it. To me that is selfish.

dreamyxo, i think others have a hand in making me
question my selfishness when it comes to this issue. i've
long since stopped trying to explain why, and only
elaborate when my fiance and i are put on the spot with,
"so when are you guys going to have kids?" - mainly asked
by family members or acquaintances our age who have already
popped out a few.
i think it should be socially acceptable to willingly not
have children. i think it only bothers me because i'm not
taken seriously about it. have you experienced shame or
guilt from others about it in your life?

I have 1 daughter but I would love to have 3 or 4 more. :)

If you have the $$$$$ and can afford kids, the more the merrier to you and your family.

I've stopped getting people asking because they know my opinion for the last couple of years plus I'm getting up there in age I could pop one out if I wanted but that door is going to be closing fast. I still look really young though ;). People used to say oh you'll change your mind. I hate that. I wouldn't really say anything just look at them like they are out of their mind. I think sometimes people are just making conversation and they can't think of anything else to say. When they ask you say you are infertile then see how awkward it gets lol maybe they will stop asking you.

There is more negatives than there is positives. I choose freedom, and wouldn't want to give it up for the responsibilities that come from having children.
-
Having kids is great also haveing grandkids is wonderful but its ashame when your kid lets you down and you have to raise there kids ( which I love my grand babies very much).
-
I would have a kid but I have never met the right guy and don't think I ever will. I have a lot of things that I need in my life before I put a life on a child. I did okay in this world and I am sure my child would have a 100% better life than I.

i just had my first baby a few weeks ago and i love it! i eventually want more but im enjoying his baby years :binkybaby:

No and not bringing any into this world. The world is screwed up as it is and the economy is not going to miraculously get any better. If I ever get the urge for children, I'd definitely adopt. There are way too many children out there in orphanages and out on the streets by the women who keep popping them out like it's nothing. If you can't afford stable living, you can't afford a pet, if you can't afford a pet, you can't afford a child.
-
I don't plan to have any kids anytime soon. I'm 24yrs old and I been single for about a year now. I'm not financially prepared and I like to enjoy the rest of my 20's before I bring any kids into this world.
-
I do not have kids. When I decide to have kids, most likely it will be through adaption. There are so many kids in the "system" that need our help.
-
I want a large family but I'm not sure if I should adopt or not . . .
-
I do not have kids and sometimes feel that way. But then I think I turned out ok and I am sure there was turmoil going on when I was not born yet either.

I agree with u dreamyxo. When I was younger when marriage & babies was the in thing, I thought I would want a few. Years, later I got married but seeing how my husband grew up in a violent/emotionally destructive home & my parents were alot better but by a really small margin. I'm an adult now but even the emotional scars come back from time to time. The parents don't remember what they've done but I know me & my brothers & sisters never will forget. Our motto is: SAVE THE WORLD, DON'T BRING UNWANTED CHILDREN INTO THE WORLD.

I love kids n I have one currently I'd love to have two or three more. There is nothing wrong in having as many kids as u want as long as its not out of wedlock n u have all the means of taking care of them.

I have two grown daughters and 3 little grandsons. I worry about what kind of life they will have in this screwed up world but I imagine our parents did too. I think whether or not to have children is a personal decision and should be honored--not criticized. 8)
