If I don't let my emotions get the best of me I would have to look at the facts and let my opinions come last. Both Icons were blessed with oodles of talent, charisma, and just plain show stoppers. My vote goes to Michael! His moves, singing, choreographer, dancing, wow! On stage doing his thing, well, I must go with Michael!

There are many, many arguments to be made in favor of both Jackson and Elvis. If forced to choose between the two, my vote would go to Elvis but if I was allowed to include groups in this argument, and it included all aspects of their careers, I would choose the Beatles as the greatest of all time. :notworthy:

Well both talented in movies and music. I would say why idolize them? Are they just people? I don't get society. Why do we put these people on a pedistle? You ever wonder why they do the things they do? We build them up to think they are gods, and then the hard reality hits them hard! We should honor their talents and enjoy what they have to offer, but we should remeber that they are just people like you and me.

My vote is for Michael Jackson. But I'll also add I don't think you'll find a consensus about this question. Of course, I'm sure you're not expecting one either, hehe. My cousin Donna LOVED Elvis. I personally couldn't stand the man. But that's nothing at all against Elvis, so don't anyone attack me for saying that.
But I quoted the message above as well, so I might offer a comment back. Putting people on pedestals isn't wrong. One thing this world is short of is RESPECT. To honor a person and/or their accomplishments shows that respect, which in most cases, they've worked hard to earn. What would be wrong is when a person places themselves upon a pedestal.
On the other hand, you got people like Mr. Bieber. He's a teenager. The agents he works with hype him up to no end. Is this about respect? Is it about all the accomplishments he's done? Heck no. This is about visibility, publicity, popularity, and yes, oodles and oodles of money! Mr. Bieber, and those like him, to me, haven't earned the same level of respect, or placement upon a pedestal as Mr Jackson, or Mr Presley. We call these latter "people" LEGENDS, and rightfully so!

It's a good question, but I would say that Elvis Presley was a better entertainer than Michael Jackson

I don't see a comparison between the two. It's like comparing apple to oranges. Both are fruit, one is citrus.

wow, that can really be debateable, I would say Michael Jackson, but my parents would say Elvis Presley, different generations have their own favorites. :wave:

Both are amongst the greatest entertainers of all time as are the Rolling Stones, Beatles, Metallica, and Caruso. All personal life stuff set aside I think that Elvis worked harder to break into the business and captured the world without anyone else's help. Jackson grew up in an environment where his groundwork was already laid. I liked the music of Elvis better.

Elvis was past my time, although I do like some of his songs. So I'll definitely have to say Michael Jackson. I've been listening to his music since I was a little girl and I just love it.

I really don't like both of them, but my husband loves Elvis. He has alot of stuff he grew up with that has at Elvis on it.
