I would say an educated mother would be a better mother. My mother did not finished high school til later in her life, then she went to college because I did. My grandmother did not think it was important for a girl to go college as long as you know how to cook and clean that was okay. Times are changing. I know that with education come wisdom and a better life for you and your family.

Having a better or higher education doesn't necessarily 'guarantee' anyone will be a better, or even a decent, mother. Education does not equal caring, selfless thinking, making that little person your first priority, or anything else that I feel goes into being a good parent/mother. I know a lot of women with multiple degrees that are anything but what I look at as examples of good parenting. Granted, more education usually equates to a better income, so you can provide a better lifestyle and living condition, but books cannot teach anyone the inherent ability to love what you have created. ;)

A competent mother who wants her children to be successful participants in our difficult, complex world must set an example by possessing a good education. She understands the hard work & mental discipline involved in the learning process, so she can help her children with their studies. They do better on their tests and get through their classwork with less frustration than children with ignorant mothers. Those poor kids often drop out of school because their parents do not understand or value education.

I definitely think an educated mother is better than an uneducated one. Education may not be in the school sense, but could also be in the nurturing sense. Maybe they learned from their mother, grandmother, etc. how to be a good caring mom. That is what is most important for the child. I do, however, think getting an education USUALLY leads to a better overall life because of better living conditions which will help the child succeed.

I would have to agree that an educated mother is better. Mainly because she can then help her child/children with their homework. Help them to understand subjects that they don't. And after having to go through the self-discipline of years of school that -come on, no one actually wants to go through - she can better relate to her children. Also it does provide a better life style for the children to grow up in. No matter how much we try to hide our financial struggles from our children - they still know (speaking from experience). And sometimes that creates more pressure on the children, whereas an educated mother who can help her husband create a comfortable (not luxurious but comfortable) life for their family makes a world of difference.
At the same time - there are several things that cannot be taught from books. Motherly instincts are learned from her own parents and grandparents, its certainly not something that can be learned in school. The same goes with the ability to teach morals, standards, and things of the sort. Cooking yes - it can be learned in school. But that's the only "motherly" quality that can be taught in a classroom. Everything else about actually being a mother is learned by example & experience.

Definitely an educated Mom.

Neither one. I feel that it is all about how you use and apply the skills and knowledge that you have. You do not have to always have a degree to prove your intelligence.

The educated mother because she is able to get a better job and provide a
Better living for her child(ren).

Educated is good, but what matters most is the love she shared. Education is not near as important as the unconditional love of a mother. Nothing can replace it.

I say everyone should get an education. I had my daughter at 17. for her first birthday present i got my GED. since then i have been trying to finish my college education. I love her and her brother very much and have given them a loving home even tho at times money has been tight. they have a very caring heart. my daughter is going to finish school and get her nursing degree. she does not even want kids for a while after she has her RN.
so I think i have done very well being an "uneducated" mother.
;D :dog:  :peace:

Education always helps, but common sense is needed. I have seen many education people who have no common sense whatever.

:dontknow: :dontknow: IMPOSSIBLE TO ANSWER, since you made no clarification as to what level and area of education the mother would have.

It doesn't matter what education a mother has. There are good mothers who have a good education and good mothers who have little education. Mothers are just mothers, both good and bad...

you can not replace love with education. if a mother works all the time because she is so well educated, she will miss out of much. Children love what they live. if they live with out love, they will not connect. The world is full of unloved, unwanted children, and no education can make anyone love someone else.

I agree with the above comment...Being "educated" or "uneducated" has absolutely nothing to do with how good of a mother you are. There are a lot of "educated" and "uneducated" women that are good mothers and some that are bad mothers. What the hell education has to do with anything?...

I think knowledge is beneficial no matter what sex you are, how old you are, or shat your situation in life is. I don't think you need a college degree to have knowledge (although it certainly helps with getting a job). I think we should all try to learn as much as we can while we're here learning on Earth.

An education certainly has benefits and makes life easier.
-
An educated mom is better, but some moms are real smart without a lot of education too.

Undoubtedly educated mother and so she can understand their childerns growth easily and also she will teach them what is good and how society is being.

having an education doesn't guarantee anything, to me it just instills something in you that you'll probably pass to your children. if you're educated, you'll encourage your children to become educated as well, not saying that an uneducated mother won't do the same, but education doesn't make good or bad parents.
-
I think that the educated mother would win all else being equal. However there are a lot of ways that people grow and develop outside of a typical education so not all uneducated mothers are bad and not all educated mothers are good. There are a lot of other variable that contribute to traits a good mother has such as kindness, respect, loyalty, dedication, courage, etc..

I'm with Yaayme....a mother is going to do what she got to do period. To be real it's all on her.
-
I have worked with many mothers both educated and uneducated. The educated mothers are more likely to provide the proper learning environment for their children. Mothers are better able to guide their children if they understand the developmental stages of growth and learning.

After we leave the earth, education will not count.... only love will matter. How we loved and if we do not know the love of GOD, we can not know how to love. For HE was the ultimate source for love. HE gave HIS all because HE loved us. Love for children is measured in time given and how it is given.

Ok to start with education does not make you a caring and loving person. A mother is someone that is loving, caring, understanding, and having your child's best interest in mind. You can always get help with the homework either from school programs, and friends. But if you have a person that is to concerned about career or if you have someone that has all the education but no common sense the child is still not going to get what they need out of life. So I don't think education is what desides a good mom.
-
I think kindness, patience, stable home, and love have more to do than education when it comes to being a mother
-
That depends on how you look at "education" itself. Do you mean schooling, or taught by the parents how to be a mom?? Maternal instinct trumps all for me, no matter what anyone says. I use my gut to determine my choices for my child. As long as she is safe and sound all around.

Educated how...?
