Unfortunately stories such as this have been around since war has been around.  With the propagation of media and social networking, the stories now come to light much more.  It's sad that the acts of a few can have such wide implications in the overall view of the US by members of the world community.  However, even more tragic is the loss of innocent lives, similar to those lost on 9/11.

I spent 27 years in the Air Force and can tell you that all members of the military are given training on the Law of Armed Conflict and how to treat the "enemy", to not only include medical personnel and Chaplains in the military, but also including unarmed civilians.  The military has millions of members, and the majority follow the rules.  Sadly, some don't.  I would only hope the Chain of Command of those involved would take swift and just action, unlike this particular case.
