Was it all colored eggs and jelly beans?
Or did it include church, family, togetherness??
Think about it? :dontknow:

I don’t know either... how it originate to be called Easter and its association with the bunny rabbit. :dontknow: It’s the same thing with Santa Claus and Christmas trees to commemorate the birth of Christ. All I know Easter is so named after the ressurrection of Jesus after the crucifixion. These symbolic objects (Easter Eggs, jelly beans, Santa Claus, gifts etc) that people are conditioned to identify with seem insignificant. ??? From what I briefly read, eggs are used as a symbol of new life and rebirth. Why not just seek God in our hearts the real truth without following man’s tradition? :peace:

Easter is the celebration of Christ's resurrection.

Uh, Santa Claus and Christmas trees most certainly do NOT commemorate the birth of Christ. lol The trees are a pagan phallic symbol, in fact, and it specifically tells you in the Bible that you're not supposed to decorate trees "like the heathens do".
All I know Easter is so named after the ressurrection of Jesus after the crucifixion.
Actually, it's named after the pagan goddess, Eastre. :confused1:
Some recommended reading for ya: http://www.pagannews.com/cgi-bin/gods3.pl?Eastre

It's a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Just as Christ is risen, believers will also be rasied at the rapture.

eatser means a couple of things to me one is that is jesus"s birthday the other is that it gives me time to spend with my kids and my husband

Knowing this for most of my life, Easter has always been a day of massive orgies.

One word, Falconer. Eggs... eggs... :o

I agree with the atheists here, For one it never tells you to celebrate Jesus resurrection, we are supposed to preach about it, but preaching is not celebrating. Two Easter falls under a longgggggggggggggggggggggggggg line of "Goddess of love" celebrations, the first Goddess of love was probably Ishtar so Easter can probably be called Ishtar day!!!!!!!!!!!!! Three the bunny rabbit was a symbol of fertility to the pagans and same with the eggs.

One word, Falconer. Eggs... eggs...
OH NOOOOOO

Cadbury Creme Eggs. Oh yeah.

It has pagan origins - you just have to care enough to do the research and then decide if God would approve of a pagan celebration or not
We're supposed to honor and celebrate Jesus' death - that's what's most important - that he died sinless, faithful, keeping full integrity to God, thus *proving* that Adam could've done the same thing, and that God was righteous in his decision to kick them out of the Garden and give them the opportunity to try to prove what they allegated, that humans can fare better independently from God.
Jesus' resurrection is not as important as his death.
So Easter shouldn't be celebrated by any stretch of the imagination

Where supposed to celebrate his death(memorial, last supper etc).
