I've ALWAYS wanted a garden! The first thing I would plant would have to be strawberries. They're my favorite.
But I can't right now, since my darn neighbor likes to leave dog food sitting in his backyard, which attracts a buttload rats. They get into everything, and my garden probably wouldn't last a week :(

I have a black thumb not a green one, lol. Anything I try to grow seems to die. I wish I could get it right though.

I grow a garden every year of some sort. Ive even had container gardens.

As for a black thumb Ive never seen anyone that truly had one you just have to learn a few things about gardening and there are a lot of good books out to help. My favorite is Organic Gardening. Its been a very good reference to have.

Do you think its cheaper to have a garden than to buy your vegatables at say like a farmers market? I've always  wanted to start one especially to grow like tomatoes but it seems like i would spend more money if i did it myself. You can get a big bucket of tomatoes at the farmers market for like $3.00 i'm always torn between that.

I have had a veggie garden every year, last year I went to container garden, I over watered them. This year I will do  raised bed gardening. The best thing to do is go by the Farmer's Almanac and you will never fail on your veggies or whatever you are growing to be a success. It even tell you when to pull weeds so they will never come back.  :peace:

I usse raised beds and container both and the yard, I look forward to my garden every year.  The thing I put in container are the salad mix and spinch thing that need extra water and care.

There is only one thing that can make having a garden enjoyable and worth while.  Grow stuff u will eat.

I'd love to have a garden. But I live in a duplex and we don't have an area out front to plant anything. And our backyard is mainly concrete. The area that is dirt is where the dogs do their business.
