I just saw that on the TV. She is now going to own the "OWN" Opra Winfrey Network. I don't doubt that she or someone she sponsors will have a show on that network. She will probably show up periodically on her network.

I didn't watch her last show and maybe watched a half dozen times the entire time she was on the air. I didn't even know her show was still on.

Almost each day I would rush home from work and watch Oprah.  Then after I retired I though now I can just sit back and watch her program then she was show her final season.  She has brought so much to the viewers and who will be able to replace her.

Who was on the show?  I was working I couldn't watch it.

I watched her final show in it's entirety. There were no surprise guests, no hoopla, no nothing. Just Oprah thanking her staff, all of her viewers over the years, and her audience for their loyal support. It was just Oprah and it was great.

She did a retrospective on her show and on her life from its very beginning 25 years ago up to present time, and talked about how everything had evolved for her. She spoke of miracles and God.

Nearly everyone loves Oprah. The previous poster is apparently one exception and I'm sure there are a small number of others. They are in the minority and they are entitled to their opinion.

In my humble opinion, she is surrounded by and demonstrates the power of Love by example. She is a great soul. I agree with what Madonna said about her on the Monday edition: "Of all LIVING women in the world today, who are my role models? There is only one, and it is you, Oprah." She is my one and only also. You will be able to see reruns of her show on the her cable network, OWN. :peace:

I sincerely apologize if you took offense with what I said in my previous post. I meant no offense toward you or anyone else. It was only my opinion. We are each entitled to our opinion, aren't we? Free speech and all that? Nothing I said was intended as a personal attack on anyone. We will simply have to agree to disagree. I am not going to defend my stance on Oprah. It is simply the way I feel. If you do not feel the same, that is certainly your right.  :peace:

I expected a big ending but it was a little boring for me.  I liked the show but honestly I don't watch that much tv.  She had a good show and think she helped a lot of people.  I don't get the OWN network so ... I guess that is the last I see of her.... or so she says  ::) .... but really I will miss the show.

I glad to know she will be doing bigger and  better things.   To know her is to love her.  One thing about the Oprah show is that, if the show did not help you it helped someone you know.

cateyes you may not understand the big deal about Oprah because she may not have touched your life in a way she has others.  Those who were abused needed her example.  Those who were hurting needed her advise and guests who had been there.  Those who needed to see hero of all ages needed the Oprah show.  Those who needed to have their AHA moment needed Oprah.  I got alot from her because she helped me grow and move out of the abuse relationship I was experiencing from my ex-husband.  I owe her my life and my undying love, she helped me see not all men were bad so I would be able to try again and experience the last 5 years with a man who spoils me rotten,  you may not get her but a great deal of the world did.

Although a lot of times I found some of her shows boring (guess I didn't relate to the topic) overall I really admire Oprah.   I will say that she puts her money where her mouth is and had done a lot to try to make the world a better place.  I remember watching her when I was kid growing up in Baltimore where she was a news anchor and also hosted a morning talk show there before moving to Chicago.  Who would have thought she would have been this big.

Now, I hope Wendy Williams will be next to leave. Her and the music that they play on her show is so annoying. I think she is beautiful at least :)

I don't get hr own channel, but after watching her last few episodes  I really wish that I did. From the shows she was promoting, it looks like she has created a pretty awesome channel!

I get OWN on cable. My guess is that Oprah is taking a well-needed hiatus before giving her new project a major face-lift. Now she has the time to make her new cable network a resounding success just like everything else she touches. I understand that all of her shows will soon be airing on OWN as re-runs in the very near future. So all of you Oprah fans out there, watch your channel listings over the next few months. She's already doing some behind-the -scenes programs about what went on that we the viewers never knew.

As for the members who don't either like or appreciate her, you have the option not to watch. It's a free country.

For myself, I do my best to limit my criticism and examine my motives if I find myself criticizing another person, famous or not.

One of the DCEs had a great quotation which fits well in this regard:

"You must start with a positive attitude or you will surely end without one." --- Carrie Latet  :peace:

I was born and raised in Chicago and for years I endured the Oprah commercials now it's finally done. Oprah is a good person, she's done a lot of good for people.  Having said that she was at the right place at the right time and in a lot of ways she was created.  She also had become very overrated.  Finally we are Oprah free.
