Me and my husband just got back from Las Vegas a week ago. It was our first time there, and it was so much fun! Surprisingly we didn't do much gambling; instead, we did a lot of sightseeing and shows. The scenery was so different from the Easter part of the country. Here we are used to grassy hills and treetops, whereas in Las Vegas we got to see these huge mountainscapes. It truly was beautiful. How about you? Have you been to good old Sin City? If so, let's hear about your experiences!

I love Vegas. I used to live there. I used to have an apartment behind the Imperial Palace. I got a kick out of doing my banking at Ceasar's Palace (the ATM). I love the 24 hour lifestyle. I don't gamble, but the buffets and shows are fun. I met a few rock stars in the casinos, after their concerts. I hated leaving, but I've fallen in love with New Mexico now. I haven't been back in years but would like to, when I have travel money again.
I grew up back East. I know what you mean about the scenery. Our skies were so dull and you couldn't see anything past the houses and trees. Since then I've lived in Utah, Vegas and New Mexico and just love the mountains, the wide open spaces, the desert climate.
Since your draw was the entertainment and not the gambling you might like New Mexico. I invite you to come for Balloon Fiesta (starting the first Saturday of October) and explore our local cultures. (I do not work for the state, I just love it.)

I do not know why some people called Las Vegas "Sin City"? In english "Sin City" means City of Sin or sinful city! In Spanish means "City without". Without---what? Does anyone really know the meaning of "Sin City"? Where it really came from? What it really means? Anyways, I visited Las Vegas once! And I like it there was so much to see and do besides gambling!

I've been twice. I have an aunt and coworker that live there. After about a day I get tired of the casino's. I like that the food is so cheap out there.
-
I have some .one when my son got married in Vegas another when my son had a new baby while he learned how to be a paramedic.mow he is a fireman and paramedic in Oregon.
-
I used to go at least twice a year. I was married to someone who loved gambling. Not in excess of what he could afford, but we had great times there. We always stayed free and our meals and shows were comped too. Well, I am sure the casinos probably made out just fine on that deal even though we felt like things were free. lol

I went during spring break while in college... many many years ago! It was fun. I won a few hundred, enough to pay for the trip! Haven't been since then.
-
Yes, four times. It was pretty fun :) If everything goes well I might even move out there next year!
-
No I have never been to Las Vegas. But I have always wondered what it is like there; maybe one day I will go.
-
I have never been, but my daughter and son in law went a few years back. They said it was beautiful. And all the pictures they took were beautiful.Especially at night.
-
:)i have never been las vegas but people have been telling that is good place to visit.
-
I went years ago when I was 17 with my family (so I couldn't gamble), but I am going this summer with all my old friends from school so we will for sure be having fun. Plan on staying at one of the hotels on the strip and gamble some FC money :P

I got married there a few years ago. At the City Hall, where we got our marriage licenses, we saw other lovebirds in line wearing matching Lakers jerseys, biker outfits, etc. Our wedding ceremony was performed by an ordained pastor of the Tropical Christian Church in a cheesy little chapel. It was a fun experience.

I LUVVVVV Las Vegas - Before marrying, use to be at least a twice a year destination - Boxing and march madness tournament and if lucky would go there during the Superbowl week.
-
I was there quite a few years ago. It was a pleasant experience, but I am not overly anxious to go back again.
-
Been there couple of times. It's a fun place to visit. I wouldn't mind to go back one day!!
-

I have never been to Las Vegas. I don't especially have a desire to go there, but I am glad that you had a great time! That's great!
-
I went on my honeymoon in Vegas, and went there 2 other times. Of course, we got divorced last week, so maybe we should've picked somewhere else!
Seriously though, it is a fun, albeit sort of depressing place.

They call it "sin city" because the casino/gambling/strip part of it got a reputation for "sinful" behavior: greed, substance abuse, adultery, etc. As they say "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas".
However, the town itself is quite family oriented and has such a large Mormon population that they built a temple there. There's much to do there without gambling. It's also in easy reach of Lake Mead and some cool mountain villages (I forgot the names) that have chalet style houses amidst the trees. Quite a break from the heat. If you enjoy people watching the casinos are great for that, 24 hours a day.

No but I want to go soon. My friends has a lot of fun there.
-
Nope not yet maybe when I am older I have wanted to go just to see how it is there and if it is really that cool

Never been to Las Vegas but would love to go :-)
-
I've never had any interest in going. I would like to go to the Balloon Festival in New Mexico that someone mentioned.

I was out there the first week in April to celebrate my wife's birthday because what happens in Vegas stays in vegas...she figures that she will never grow any older! Wild times! All day spent at the pool and out partying/dancing the night away. The last night, after all of our friends left, my wife got hooked into a craps table and one $1,000.00. If she had known how to bet she would have made $25,000.00 like the man next to her...who's girlfriend kept asking me if we were swingers! Too crazy and no shortage of stories!

Back in 2002 I went to Vegas but I was like 13. My Mom, Aunt, little sister, and I were going to Hawaii to visit my older sister who lived there at the time. We had to stay over night in Vegas to catch our connecting flight. I haven't been back since but I'm not a big gambler so I don't know if I ever will.

It seems like allot of people get married there. I know someone that recently flew out there to get married instead of having a full wedding. My husband's brother also got married there. I understand the wanting to make it simple however we opted for getting married in our garden with a friend as the minister.

no may mom & dad have and they said it nice there but going the house wins most of time but they will go back
-
No but I would like to go to Vegas one day.

I have never been there but hope to one day. I'm sure that the shows are fantastic. I have gone to casinos in Mississippi and Delaware though. :)

-
I haven't been to Las Vegas, but it might be a fun experience to go and check it out. I'd really, really like to go at the very least to catch a Criss Angel show. I really like that guy and I love what he's done with the world of illusion.

No I have never been would love to one of these day.
-
No I have not been to Las Vegas.

I lived in Vegas for 2 years back in the early 80's. I was stationed at Indian Springs Auxiliary Air Field about an hour north of Vegas where I worked as a fire fighter in the US Air Force. The Thunderbirds practiced there every day when they weren't touring. Cool, but bad for a hangover! I lived in North Las Vegas for a while, then off Tropicana and Maryland Parkway on the southern part of Vegas, then finally off of East Sahara with a couple of buddies. I loved the Slots of Fun (50 cent bar!) and Westward Ho (free wine and *bleep* Marys almost every day!) by the Circus Circus. Then the ladies! I don't wanna think about it because my fiance will notice a gazed dazed look on my face. Aahh those were the days...
-
I hear it's awesome. I haven't been yet.
-
Yes I have visited Vegas several times in the past. I went there for sight seeing, not for gambling. The night view is remarkable. I haven’t been there for more than a decade now.
-
I haven't been to Las Vegas in years! It was a lot of fun! Wish I could go back, but, living in NC it is closer to go to Harrah's in Cherokee. It is pretty close to the same if you stay in the hotel at the Casino. And never leave the building; that is. ;D
-
I have never been to Las Vegas but would love to go! I'm not much into gambling but I would like to go to the shows and see the sights!
-
No and no plans to.

-
Only once when I was 13, pretty lame if youre not 21
-
Never een but would looooove to go there one day!
-
I have not been to Las Vegas. That is one place that I have been trying to save money up for. But when things come along and screw that up it is very hard to save money.
-
I make a trip once a year with my buddies. We like to rotate with the hotels we stay and like gamble and hit the nightlife. I only occasionally see a show.
-
Not yet, but, Lord willing, I'm going. I want to experience the beautiful bright lights at night.
