It's YOUR change and due to you, no matter how little it may be. He is not doing his job. Would he have just closed the cash register drawer if your change from $300.00 was $1.00?   :bs:

I know some people that click on ptc sites all day long to make a few pennies...Seriously...some of these ptc sites pay .0001 cent per click!

See that would bother me also It doesn't make any difference that your change was only 2 cents it is your change and I would Have just stood there until I got my change A penny saved is a penny earned That employee was not a very good employee I wonder how many other customers he does it to and at the end of the day just pockets the change  That is stealing in my book Hope you stood your ground and did get your change

wow!  I went to a DD once and paid for some donuts and a lb of ground coffee - I gave a twenty - my change should have been about three bucks - and the guy did the same thing!  I was so angry I went back later and spoke to the manager - who was very apologetic - and I got another free lb. of coffee plus my money.

since most transactions are by debit/ACH/credit now, perhaps the clerk just can't count change? Odd, but since I pay most local transactions in cash I have noticed the lack of ability to count change has been increasing the last 5 years.

oh, and to the above who said this post is worth $0.02. Well, if you make 30 posts in one month and get paid $3.00 for those posts, then each post is worth an average of $0.10. Now since daily emails are worth $0.02 we all know exactly how long it takes to earn $0.02  :-

Wow that was lucky of you that the manager actually believe you in the first place.  Some of the place they actually don't believe you.  If you leave the store.  The said after you left the store that day it's not there responsibility anymore.

That's quite interesting, I would certainly ask him to give me my change, if change was due.

But I'm also thinking back to when I buy chips, how they are 99cents, and I seem to never get my 1cent back. :

So he short changed you? I was short changed 10 bucks at Walgreen's but didn't notice till I was a few feet out the door. I went back in and told the lady what she did, she denied it, the manager came out and looked at the tape and guess what, the camera doesn't lie. It showed her keeping my 10 bucks and putting it in the register, I got my 10 bucks back and the lady looked dump for trying to lie to my face.

Even if I see a penny on the ground I pick it up and say thank you or if I drop a penny and dont pick up I announce it is a gift for someone.
I think you will find change on the ground now if you ask.

I am definitely not a person that allows a person to short change me or allow me to look like a fool. The next time I buy something from there, I would buy the same thing, except this time, give him 298 pennies and say, "Is that enough pennies for you?" That way, you've given him the EXACT change and he knows you are on to him. He will never short change you again!   :bs:

I had that happen one day not at dunkin' but somewhere else, I said would you mind if I get my change, I know its only pennies but my granddaughter likes to save them.  I felt bad because that isn't really true, and it made me mad that I felt like I had to give an excuse for wanting my change regardless of the amount.

I earn the pennies because at the end of the year I bring them to the bank and change them into 20's and its such a waste jst throwing your pennies when you can earn it and exchange it at the end of the year

I am a newbie and saw the amount you have earned. I was shocked. As I said, I'm new so maybe you're not even the highest. But it made me want to do more. And I have a silly question maybe. What is PTC and are they worth it I've never heard of this before. I have recently lost my job and my engine blew on my car. So, any pennies I GET I WANT! lol

I already addressed the change issue but donut wise I'd like to say that Krispie Kreme are the best.  We have to drive to the next town over but would do that any day for a Krispie Kreme versus a Dunkin' Donuts which I don't find to be very fresh or good most of the time.  We have one close by us but rarely get desperate enough to go there for donuts. We also have an independent donut shop in town which has excellent donuts but if you don't get there early you are out of luck and they are only open 1/2 day.  Alas!

Now if that were me, I would probably complain until the manager or someone came out. I have done it in the past. Although it was not for .2C, someone had made a mistake in a grocery store for a $1 return of change and the cashier made it look like it was my error. I told them I was not moving out of line until I have seen a supervisor. It doesn't matter if it is .2C or 20$, if they are not competent enough to be running a cash register, they shouldn't be. Now a days it tells you what change to give back anyway!!!
