My favorite 4th of july event are the fireworks. Growing up we were sailing most of the time over the 4th of July. My parents always found a harbor with fireworks. What beautiful colorful displays in the sky complete with sound effects! It just isn't the 4th with fireworks!
Enjoy and stay safe.

I live in Canada... so we had Canada day on the 1st of July! Me and the family went to the parade, then roasted marshmellows in the back yard! Kids had loads of fun! Invited over friends and family as well!

Fireworks over the water (or anywhere)!!!

I remember living in Norfolk, Virginia and watching fireworks on the river. The reflection on the water was breathtaking and lovely.
With so many fires this year, it looks like new traditions will be forthcoming. There is more meaning to the holiday than fireworks.

Hands down it has to be the fireworks displays since they take me back to my childhood where the kids from two different sides of a dry gully in El Paso, TX would build forts in the sides of the gully and fire fireworks in the general direction of the opposing force the kids from the opposite side of the gully until all amunition and combustible material had been disposed of. Not sure how we did it but we succeded in expending all our material without hurting each other.
