Does anyone here understand why she is popular. I just dont get it

I agree with you, I don't like her either. I think I like only one song from her Bad Romance which is something different from other songs. I think people like her not b/c of her singing voice but because of the drama she creates with her performances. I can't stand it but others think it's totally cool. There was one time when she wore meat for clothes! Her fans like the fact that she tells all that she does drugs only to get high in order for her to write her next song. I think she's a Madonna copy cat & just adds the extra sprinkles so she can call it her own. I don't get either but I didn't get the wearing pants 10xs larger so others could see your underwear or worst butt crack either. I guess people are just turned on towards the weird & extreme. Well, that's my take on lady gaga. :dontknow:

Yeah, I don't get it either. I think she's disgusting personally...She has a huge gay following so that's partly why shes as popular as she is.

well, her music isn't great ... it all sounds about the same, but so does everything out thre to me. i think from a pure personal level, when i've heard her speak about herself and such, she's someone who pulls for people to be who they are and not be driven by fads, clicks, etc. some of her music (i think?) makes fun of how people follow along like cows in a pasture the fads and clicks and attitudes, etc.
but hey, i'm old, what do i know ::)

IMO it's Avril Lavigne all over again. Appealing to girls who want something "different" but aren't experienced enough to find the real deal. ::)

that's why she's popular. she's plastered everywhere.
people will like what the media tells them to like, what
the radio plays for them to like, what fashion mimics
for them to like.
it's a very scary thing, how influential the media is.

I think Lady Gaga has some beautiful things to say, but the way she says them is open to ridicule. These words are beautiful:

Just the way she makes her statements are so dramatic and over the top that it makes people uncomfortable. She's not my favorite...some of her costumes and videos make me admittedly uncomfortable (and I wholly disagree with the video for Alejandro), and I'm torn about her.

My feeling is that she is only popular because she is weird and bizarre and I think that draws a lot of people to make her popular. I don't think she is a good singer at all.

because kids like to rebel and she is the way to do it. she rebels against normal. we listened to metal while I was growing up, if I only knew what I was listening to, I wouldn't have.

She tries WAY too hard to be different. I only like one song by her and that's "just dance". Otherwise I'm pretty sick of her. She's not being innovative, she's being weird.

Lets see... One good reson she is so popular is becasue, she is a great singer. Besides lookimg like a man some times shes not afried to change thangs up a little. PLuse unlike alot of rapers she always has new songs comeing out, and shes involved in alot of other rapers songs.

yeah i know she wears weird stuff but some of her songs are pretty catchy!

I like the unusual get ups and so forth. i think its really creative. I have not listened to the music yet. I just like seeing what she is going to come out with next. Different and fun. Not just the same old same old.

I don't get it either. I can listen to some of her catchy tunes. I could care less to see what and how she dress like. Her choice of attire and antics make some of us gag. There will always be other artists who will be equally or more popular than her later on.

I keep hearing how Lady Gaga is a big Iron Maiden fan. At one of Maiden shows in Flordia she was serving drinks to the Maiden crew and the people back stage. A guess being a waitress is her side job. If you want to read about it, check out Blabbermouth.net.

I only like Bad Romance and that's it, the rest are meh. I don't see why she's so popular and why people were calling her inspirational before her new album because all she wrote about was sex, drinking, and clubs.
But it's annoying when people who don't like her try to insult her by saying she is/looks like a man. She's not and if she was, why would that matter? ::)
And I assure you, not all LGBT likes her. In fact most find her to be using the community to make money.

I just read where she was pelted with eggs in Australia. I don't see what is so exciting about her ~ even to waste eggs throwing at her! Apparently it is attention she craves. Just look at her for proof of that!

I saw an interview with her on 60 minutes. At least she didn't seem like such a fake like all the others from her genre of music.

wayyyyy over the top, but actually talented. I wish she didnt force feed her presence on people though, it gets annoying. But her songs are good.

I think most of her music sounds like demo versions of Madonna songs. She can't hold a candle to Madonna even though Madonna hasn't put out anything worth while since the 80s.

When she was first discovered, she was all about showing nudity. Thats what made her popular and she still does that now. But i respect her, she found a way to brand herself and she did it. :thumbsup:
