Title: Coupons
Post by: tigerlilly01 on July 18, 2011, 06:20:19 am
Do you use many coupons?  I am having problems with stores NOT accepting the coupons that you print out from the internet.  It is very frustrating when you get to the checkout and they refuse them.

I use coupons but honestly have never used printed ones. I was always worried stores would not accept them. I've heard that Walmart accepts them but I haven't tried it  :dontknow:

I use coupons but you have to make sure they are manufacture coupons meaning that only big retailer stores like walmart will accept them, not the small retailer stores.

I use coupons all the time and for everything! I print out coupons at home all your box stores should take them, my local mom and pop grocery store will not take them.  I have a huge 4 ring binder and keep my book up to date.  Like at Walmart I would have spent 70 dollars but with coupons I spent 30 dollars!!!!!! Totaly worth my time and I do about 5 to 8 hrs a week on printing, organizing, buying papers ect.

I'm a coupon freak!! Walmart now accepts Web Coupons, the old Marsh's Supermarket in my town had a sign at all the checkout station stating that they didn't accept photocopies, odd coupons, expired coupons (duh!), and web coupons.

I agree mom and pop shops may not take them but bigger places such as Wal-Mart, Target, Safeway, have always taken my internet coupons. Hope you can find a store soon, especially one that doubles cause every penny counts

Couponing is being redefined due to the impact of Extreme Couponing Show. It has actually hurt the industry because you have rogue people that just went wild doing unethical things.
Your best bet for using internet coupons is check store's coupon policy online or as a manager at a store. A cool trick if you do start using your internet coupons. You can print 2 per computer that you have in your home ... one friend uses the computers at the library so she gets 2 per computer station. I have had great success with internet coupons. They usually have few restrictions and are higher value. Hope this helps.

Not sure why this is in the fusioncash section, but to answer your question.
Yes I use coupons, even ones printed out online. But only at Walmart.
Walmart will also do ad comparisons, so lets say you see your favorite body wash on sale at a different store in the sunday ads, you bring the ad (although they don't require the ad, sometimes it's helpful if its a large discount so there's no arguing), and any coupon you might have for the item and you tell the cashier you're going to ad comp that item.

My sister also does this, with her toddler and husband she was normally spending $200 a week on groceries/household items, but now she's spending half that and still getting the same amount.

Extreme Couponing show is a bit misleading because they usually only show people going specifically for a bulk amount of one or two items and saving a ton of money on them. But they usually don't show them doing their normal grocery shopping with meats and fruits and stuff.

There are alot of tips online about couponing, one is to contact the manufacturers directly and ask about receiving coupons, especially if you're wanting to try healthier/organic foods, just let them know "i'm wanting to eat healthier and was wondering if I could receive some coupons to try out your products". Other manufacturers have coupons already available on their website or ask you to subscribe to their newsletter to receive them. Some manufacturers don't mention this but if you give them feedback on products you've used, they'll send you coupons in the mail.

Other stores have more restrictions now, even walmart has restrictions. It's best to call the stores ahead of time and find out what their policy is on coupons/ad-matching before you plan your grocery trip. But it's definitely worth it, can end up saving alot and still getting what you need.

I use internet coupons as my local grocery store does honor them. Do to fraud,I am sure some of the smaller Mom & Pop canno afraid to honor them.

It is a shame that a small group of dishonest people spoil it for the rest of us. :BangHead:

I had posted something like this before for another question, but I don't see how people DON'T use coupons. We have a family of 4 and my grocery bill is about $130 per week (and that's not buying everything) so coupons certainly do help!

Just this past year I've started couponing.  It's getting easier and easier.  It helps if you follow some blogs that give you the store/coupon match ups.  As far as stores not accepting printed coupons...print out their coupon policy and if it doesn't specify I would talk to the manager.  More times than not, they are willing to go the extra mile to keep your business

I've recently started using coupons.  Our local Walmart will not accept printed coupons.  I guess they have had trouble with forgery.  I don't do much with coupons on the internet.  I'd love for fusion cash to link up with a coupon site.  I'm sure I'd use a lot more then.

I use coupons for most everything. Most stores do accept the internet ones-but it's worth it to go to the website and review their coupon policy. I know a local grocery store won't accept internet coupons that state "free" anywhere on it, but accept everything else.

Yes I love coupons and I never seem to have enough. I read somewhere that a lady told all her friends to give her their own mazines and
she would cut out the coupons.  Some coupon blogs are very good.

Agreed... I love coupons.

I use coupons every chance I get.
If I am at a restaurant and do not have a coupon, I will check on my phone and see if there is one online.  Most places I have gone to even except coupons off your phone.

I shop at Safeway, Walmart and Target.  Those stores all take the internet coupons.
Target you can stack.. which means you can use their coupons off the internet (or have some sent to your phone).. along with your manufacturer coupons. EXCELLENT savings that way..
^^^and if you charge it to your Target card... you also get 5% off your total.
^^^^^and if you bring reusable bags.. they take off .05cents a bag!!!

All those little things add up.

Saving money is a must for so many of us in this economy.

  We LOVE coupons!!!!

I definitely am enjoying using coupons especially combined with sales.  We have a family of 7, so every bit helps.  The blogs are very helpful and there are local classes to given by coupon experts.  I've seen them at libraries and park districts.

I follow a few people on face book and they tell me where the deals are and what coupons to use to make them cheaper.. I am in love with coupons i use them all the time. I have a stock room of about 1000.00 worth of stuff that I may have spent a little over a 100.00 for.. I buy stuff throughout the year to make people baskets for Christmas with the stuff that I have got with coupons. Shampoo soap tooth paste dish washing liquid etc.
