Hi everyone,
Much of the country is in a heat wave, how are you surviving it?
I am very thankful that my AC works! I am also drinking the lot of ice coffee and eating ice cream. It should be cooler in the Northeast today. So I can work off some of the ice cream!
Hope everyone stays cool and have a great day! :peace:
-
here in Michigan it has been hot and muggy, tried to turn on the AC not working needs to be charged and either the service people are booked or you pay an arm and a leg. got the fans running and trying to get in the water to cool down.
-
:)drinking a lot is how i survive in this heat summer
-
i hate humidity and when is muggy and sticky...
i want winter!enough summer for me!i am not enjoying at all this year :dontknow:
-
Staying inside as much as I can. I went out and got heat exhaution. You all need to know what that is and be safe. :bs: dog days are worse this year.
-
Staying inside as much as I can, drinking a lot of water and wearing as little as I can legally get away with LOL
-
I stay inside, I only go out to work and in the car and out the car into the house. On the weekends I go out but I do not stay out long, but I like summer I don't like winter at all so cam on fall and spring. :)
-
I stay inside and drink a lot of water. If its a must that i go outside i make sure i have on cool colors and keep the AC running in my car. ;D
-
I am staying inside under the air condtion
-
I'm staying inside as much as I can, I'm down here in the south and it's been brutal hot recently, heat index makes it feel over 100 down this way. Plus, I'm pregnant so I'm trying to limit how much time I spend outside simply to save myself some comfort. Drinking lots of water, stay hydrated everyone!
-
Def staying inside with the AC on!!
-
I stay in during the day and come out during the evening when it's cooler....
-
Stay at home working everyday until 5:30pm and go out for cooler air every evening. I hate the heat but am thankful that I am able to enjoy the cool inside the home house. Acturally the basement is a good place to go in hot weather and you don't have to worry about the electricity bill same time!
-
swimming in my backyard :bootyshake: loll < to cute
-
Staying in the water. Got the heater off on the hot tub.lol...
-
24 hours ac is my solution right now
-
Ive been trying to stay in my ac but i do have a pool :)
-
Turning on the AC and taking a cold shower.
-
using the ac and taking showers
-
I hope our's is over, now that it's downpouring! but, we have an open concept type house and we blocked off the living room with thick blankets and had two ac's going. It was nice and cold :)
-
It was a lot cooler today than it's been and it was still hot. I'll take cold weather anyday over boiling heat. Least you can put on lots of clothes. You can only take off so many clothes and still be hot.
-
Ive been trying to stay in my ac but i do have a pool :)
Aww lucky :bunny:
For me, I survive with 24 hours ac too.
-
I'M IN TEXAS AND IT'S BEEN HOT EVERYDAY FROM SUN UP NTO SUN DOWN :BangHead: I STAY HOME WORKING OR A/C ON BLAST.
-
Turn on the AC and fan to stay 8) . Drink 8) drinks.
-
I ignore the heat and go about my business (with no ac or fan at home)
-
Air Conditioning is the way to go couldnt do it W/O it :angry7:
-
I am surviving it by staying indoors most of the time as I have a heart condition and the extreme heat is very dangerous for me. And yes, thank God for A/C! I am also drinking more water than I usually do so I stay hydrated which is the most important thing you can do in these heat waves.
-
Texas here - we've had about 27 consecutive days of triple digit temps - I'm roasting!! I've been staying in as much as possible and up until earlier this week staying pretty cool thanks to the AC. The last few days the AC has been running like crazy but my room in the house has no shade so it's the hottest in the house. I can't wait for cooler weather!!!
-
I stay in the house in front of the fan and ac ;D
-
It has been extremely hot in Tennessee this year. We haven't done much of anything this summer because almost every day the heat index is in the 100's. Staying inside and enjoying the air conditioning...and the huge electric bills...*sigh*
-
no ac for me, just 2 fans running on full speed as long as im in my room. otherwise im out skatin n sweatin like crazy. come winter time no1 will be around to keep me warm though
:sad1:

Keep the back of your neck in shade (wear a cap backwards, or raise your collar) or put a wet handkerchief on the back of the neck. The sensor for our body temperature control system is in this area, and so with this method you can make the rest of your body think that you are "cool".
Place or tie an icepack behind your head.
Wear your hair up. This will help to keep your neck cool and relatively free of sweat.
Wet your hair. Just like you lose the most heat from your head during winter, you can apply the same principle in the heat. Wet all your hair, or just all along the hairline in a pinch. The evaporation of the water will cool your head (though it may make your hair a bit frizzy if it's curly!).
Wear a bandanna with water soaked on it and put it on your head.Or you can relive the 80's and wear a wet terrycloth headband on your forehead.
Also try using a Water Misting Fan. These portable devices are battery operated so you can take them with you wherever you go. As you mist and fan yourself, the water is evaporated on you skin giving you an instant cooling sensation!

During this heatwave many are staying inside the house. I have a request. Can you all follow me on twitter where I am waterfallRN

I can't stand the heat. Ugh! I'm looking forward to highs in the 70's, when ever that happens around here.
-

It isn't too bad here in Buffalo, NY it's around 87°F.
Every room in our house has a fan >.<
I survive it by just basic stuff like drinking a lot of water and taking semi-cold showers.
You're lucky to have AC, Fans could sometimes suck lol

I stay inside all day as long as my AC works and go out in the afternoon.
-
All I can say is, "thank God for air conditioning. Although its better now. It actually seems kind of cool this morning. I just hope the heat doesn't come back full force.
-
No!
-
I agree with the air conditioning, but I cannot wait until the fall. I like cooler weather!
-
Here in Florida it's been hitting 90+ degrees. I stay indoors most of the day but when I do go out it's early in the morning before the heat really builds up.
-
I'm in Oregon so the weather is pretty mild this year. It's supposed to be upper 80s today. It's noon and about 70 now. This is just right.
-
It seems to over here! Finally! I live in Kansas and we were right in the middle of the heat dome! It made for a very uncomfortable summer and didn't get a lot done because of it! :-[
-
Defintely stay in A/C indoor environment and drink something 8) .
-
I use AC indoors.
BTW, I wonder if the high temps would raise room temps in the high 80s and above.
-
I think I am gonna melt here it is 99-102 but with the heat index it feels like 112 and what make it worth is the humidity
Thanks to the A/C of course
-
THis heat really sucks I dont know what to think about it its just killing me I cant stand to even walk to my car its so bad
-
Wish I had some of that heat now cause it's starting to get really uncomfortably cold.
