I think the new barbie is pretty cool and unique. Although, there are parents who aren't too happy about it.

well, finally, little miss perfect barbie is joining the rest of the world, being what she wants to be without worrying about her politically, religously correct image. i personally don't want tattoos, but i have no problem with you if thats the way you want to express yourself :notworthy:

I suppose Barbie has done everything else. I'm interested in looking at it. It probably should be reserved for older children though. If someone wants to get a tattoo it should be wholly their own decision, not because Barbie did it. Unfortunately some kids are like that, so parents would have to decide in the end whether thats appropriate for their family or not. :binkybaby:

I see absolutely nothing wrong with changing the look of Barbie. The doll was "unrealistic" in appearance anyway but this latest version just reflects the overall culture of society today. Seems perfectly appropriate.

I've seen it, and I like it. If it wasn't so expensive, I would let my daughter have one. I have friends like that in real life, why can't a Barbie be like that?

People who have tattoos kinda have their own way of thinking, their own tribe so to speak. I dont think there is anything wrong with this.

Wonderful, why don't they just put a whisky bottle in one hand and a pack of cigarettes in the other, won't people regret getting these when they are older, just like taking up smoking or drinking. Shame on Mattel.

I hate the new skank Barbie. Barbie was always classy until now. I think Mattel has lost it's toy making mind. I don't want to see loose morals and disrespectful behavior promoted in young girls. I don't want to witness the generation of young women who will have played with skank Barbie. :angry7: :angry7: :angry7:

i was perfectly fine with the way barbie looks. my barbies dont have tattoos and i never had a barbie with pink hair or a pregnant barbie.

they have almost every other type of barbie why not one with a tatoo or two? i myself would rather see my daughters playing with a barbie with a tat than a barbie that has a baby in the belly..... tatoos are a form of art and i myself would by my daughters the new barbie as long as they understand what a tat is and not the sterotyping that comes from it.

they were talking about putting out a doll where kids try to breast feed it...(not sure if it ever happened or not)...no reason why barbie cant have inkings i guess?

I couldn't have said it better. What they need to do is make a Barbie with an extra 25 pounds so she looks like how a normal woman should.

Let's face it ... they are going to make what sells and if the new
barbie sells like hot cakes they will definitely keep making them.
I guess Mattel feels they need to keep up with the ever changing times.
I am sure they still make the classic clean cut Barbie. Ultimately the parents
will have to be the responsible person to buy the right Barbie for their child.

Aren't Barbies for little girls? As far as I know, one can't get a tattoo until they are an adult!
Let the kids be little and sweet for as long as possible. The tats, piercings, boys, etc... will come all too soon.
Barbie in general isn't a true reflection of how a woman really looks. I don't have girls, thank goodness, but I think
they should play with baby dolls that are sweet and cute! :bunny:

I think this is getting out of line. Kids are growing up to fast as it is. Why can't they just let dolls be dolls and not add all this stuff to them.

I don't have any Tattoos myself BUT I believe It's everyone's choice to do whatever they want. If a female decides to get a Tattoo then go for It. In my opinion having a Tattoo does NOT make a female less attractive.

Too funny! Next Barbie will have Guages, pearced body parts, botoxed lips, enhancements, and bad hair jobs! Have you seen the Saturday Night Live Skit with Cougar Barbie? Cougar Barbies trap young men in their house as they perform pole dances! Cougar Barbies are forty something carnivores looking for action from young, unsuspecting young men! Totally cracked me up! My wife falls into the cougar category and she laughed till she had tears in her eyes. I think that it is a really popular Youtube video if you have the time and want a good laugh. Mattel is going off the charts on this one!

Huh...I'm not against that kind of Barbie, to each their own, but if I had a daughter, I don't think I would buy it for her. She would have plenty of time to learn about tattoos without her dolls being plastered with them.

LMAO. These companies will go to any length to make a buck. Barbie with tattoos. They probably are big sellers too. Supply and demand is what its all about.
