I typically prepare my lunch the night before and bring it to work the next day since we have an accessible microwave here. Lunch typically consists of grains (rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta), beans or green veggies, and meat. On ocassion, I'll add cornbread.

Being a vegetarian its hard for me to buy food that is fast and simple. So, I normally eat a salad, or take cheese and pretzels, but I always have to have 1 small two bite cinnamon role with just a little pepsi to take the edge off in the morning. I wish I could get in the habit of eating a decent breakfast, snack at lunch and then a good home cooked supper early in the evening, but just doesn't seem to be enough time in the day to accomplish that!

I work at home, so I have a little bit of an advantage. I usually will have any of these choices for lunch: a bean burrito, a quesadilla, soup and crackers or just a plain sandwich like peanut butter and jelly. I always have to have some soda at lunch, which is actually becoming a bad habit!! :angry7: :crybaby2:
I been off from my running routine, and lately I feel so bad eating so much junk food but when you have to train for 5ks and marathons 9 months out of the year, you really want to take advantage of 3 months of eating whatever you what!! lol :P

Yesterday I had chinese food out but I brought home half for dinner last night. Today I had a carrot and lettuce salad with fat free Ranch dressing. Maybe that will offset yesterday's splurge :dontknow: :dontknow:

At work I always take a sandwich and some crackers. At home I will either make a sandwich and have some crackers or some popcorn or I will make pasta or soup.

I am a strong believer in making my own lunches.

Microwave takes the nutrition out of food. If you dont want to cook then have slices of cheese, crackers that are good for you like rice with seeds in them from health food store. celery and cream cheese. et things to snack on that are good for you are better then denutralized food heated in a microwave. :BangHead:

I've recently found that I can do carry out at major restuarant chains for the same (or cheaper) price than doing drive thrus every day. I do keep some food in the kitchen at work, but sometimes you just really want hot food! Lots of places do lunch specials and the portions are large enough to be dinner or tomorrow's lunch!
