Title: Black Friday
Post by: AdamH1978 on October 27, 2011, 09:33:02 pm
Just about one month till the biggest shopping day of the year, Black Friday.  Are you looking for anything in particular or do you participate in the frenzy? :)  I've been checking out sites like BlackFriday.com that release the leaked advertisements well before Thanksgiving day.  Not much on there yet, but I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a 50-55 inch tv at a nice savings.  I still have a 36 inch tube tv that weighs about 200 pounds.  Nice picture still, but not hdtv and way too bulky too look good in my living room.

I've had terrible luck the past few years. In fact all the things I wanted the last couple were gone right away and I was left with nothing even when standing out very early for a sale at one of the brick and mortars. I don't think I will shop at a retail store on Black Friday anymore. I don't think there is too much luck either online, but at least I don't have to face all the unfriendlies in line (a number are aggressive).

Well, last year we snagged a laptop for $200 bucks :angel11:

Not really planning, will wait and see I think.

I have only done Black Friday once.  That was enough of that for me.  I don't like the crowds, rude people, everyone in such a hurry.  I usually do my shopping online now.

I have always wanted to go out early Friday morning, but can never seem to get myself going.  Maybe it would be different if there was something I really wanted, but I normally spend the day getting the deals online.

I LOVE black Friday!  Its best to go with a group, that way you can split up in a store and get almost everything on your list.  I have 4 of my own and 8 nieces and nephews to shop for, so getting the best prices is a necessity, even if waiting in line for hours is a big pain in the butt!  Last year I got my boys a train table with a full train set for 79.  What a steal!  The table alone is 79!  Not sure what I'll be looking for this year, but my oldest wants a ipod touch, Gotta keep up with the Jonses...  lol ;D

I use the site Bfads.net to get the lastest sales, I also enjoy getting the giant paper the night before and looking at the sales making my list.

It depends entirely on what is on sale. I HATE the crowds and the super duper long waits in line for 1 or 2 items. If there is a really great sale on something then I will go and stand in line but as a general rule I buy things on-line with free shipping. I can usually get as good of a deal or better for the types of items I'm buying!

I could not beleive that last year you could not buy anything after black friday.  The stores I went to never restacked after that date and even on line many things were completely sold out.  This year I have to start earlier than black friday if I want to get anything.  The heck with the sales.

Hmm Black Friday is just something I've never been able to wrap my mind around enough to participate in, I'd rather shop when its not so crowded and I don't like giving the stores the idea that one big sale a year makes up for high prices we pay all year.

Me too.  I think the saving it sound good, but I don't waste my energy and fight for Black Friday.  But I really like Black Friday though. :)

I usually do participate in Black Friday sales, but not really to do Christmas shopping. I usually get myself a new purse or something. I have found that shopping for the latest and greatest thing is way too stressful. And I certainly am not one of the first people out in the day...

Not looking for anything in particular, but will be checking out the ads to see if anything appeals to me.  I have gone out a lot for Black Friday and I tend to enjoy the whole experience, even if it is a bit crazy.

I do not shop on black Friday. I have seen too many bad incidents on the news. I have also realized that many of these GREAT DEAL items only have a small amount at each store.
Not my idea of a good shopping experience.
I will forfeit these deals to the braver shoppers.

I rarely participate unless there is something I really want and there's not a huge rush for that item. I don't get up early for it or camp out.

Nearly all the Black Friday ads are online now at various Black Friday sites.  The best deal I saw was a 1080p 42' Sharp LCD tv at Best Buy for 200 bucks! :o  Want an Ipod Touch?  Target will be selling the 8gb Ipod Touch for 195 with a free 40 dollar Target gift card included.  Xbox 360?  Best Buy will have the 250gb model with 2 games included for 200 bucks flat.  Not too shabby.  I can't wait.

I'm not personally a black Friday fan, its too crowded and crazy for me, but my boyfriend is looking forward to it. He's a kid in an adults body, so it's like Christmas for him. I know that i'll be dragged around numerous stores looking at electronics on black friday, haha. It's not so bad though, my birthday is a week after :) so maybe i'll get a few gifts that people bought on their shopping day!

I have to admit as far as Black Friday goes I hire a professional shopper to do the dirty deeds and let my daughter handle all that Black Friday stuff.

I actually am almost done my Christmas Shopping. I am not looking for anything particular Black Friday, but I will go out and see if I find any really good deals on things I didn't know I was looking for:) I will not go to Target, Best Buy, Kmart or Walmart. Learned my lesson last year. Not worth the crowds. I will go to JC Penney, Belks, Victoria Secret and Bath & Body Works. I heard that Walmart will be open the Thanksgiving. I feel sorry for the workers.

No Black Friday for me, there is nothing I want bad enough to go through all that craziness.  There are people that just love it but then I don't like shopping anyway.  I would do the Black Friday deals online if anything because I shop online where I can anyway.  I hate paying the shipping but I don't like going to the stores, don't like being around a lot of people and am disabled so its not comfortable for me to go out anyway, get in pain and have trouble walking. SO its stay home and do what I can online for me  ::)

I dread black Friday.  I work at Walmart and I have to go in at 2 a.m. that morning.  We always have a crowd/  If I didn't work there I would not go.  I have seen people fight over things and get mad.  I have never seen anything I would fight over.  Although there is a laptop that is real cheap this year.  But I just bought a new desk top puter a few weeks ago and I quess I don't need another one.

My mom has worked in retail for over 40 years so I know how crazy Black Friday can be.

I prefer to avoid the craziness.   Most of the time you can catch sales that are just as
good the week or two before Christmas.

Black friday is not a day that I will go shopping. Everyone that does must be crazy. There are mobs of people and people get hurt. They are like vultures. I rather shop online and have everything sent to my house and the best part is there is no crowds.

I'm going to compare online deals to the in store ones; if the online ones don't match my specific needs, then I'll have to go in-store.  I have four little brothers who all want the latest shooters for Christmas; Black Friday shows they'll be $30 off each, so that's $120 I'll save buying them that day.

My family has made it a tradition to go out on black friday.  It has gotten to the point where we cull a list ahead of time and know exactly where we are going and what we will be buying.  I love the thrill of going in the middle of the night and the hustle and bustle of the holidays.

Every year I would love shopping online and specially save a bundle for Black Friday. Like last year I bought soo many games I never play them but I sell them back. I guess it's like this, if you want to buy some stuffs but want to wait for sells, just like real life's sell the internet has a special sell. Also there's "Cyber Monday". Not sure which one is which.

I think Black Friday is real life and Cyber Monday is internet lol.

I enjoy the thrill of the hunt and bargains, usually buy more than I would've originally.  Lots of impulse stuff that I get home and wonder why I bought all that stuff.  I also seem to get deals on stuff for myself and home than gifts for those on my list.  I'm not a morning person, but make the exception to get out on Black Friday morning, who knows what kind of great deal is waiting for me?!

I did one Black Friday shopping experience in my life....ugh people were crazy. Not worth it. I mean what about the person stampeded on and killed Black Friday shopping.....no thanks.
