I use to do real trees all the time. Now I just do fake. I have a fiberoptic tree up now. It's really neat.

Real tree is much pretty and classic but it is not that good for the environment. So I think Fake tree is a good solution for a tree without the hassle of cleaning then getting rid of it after Christmas (they usually burn it here on a big fire pot and I think this is horrible and some other deliver it to the parish and they use it as a natural barrier in the MS river).
You can even store the fake tree and reuse it :)

we have kids with allergies in this house so we cant have a real tree so we have a fake tree

Real tree all the way. Love the smell of the house with a real tree. I must say some of the fake trees look very real, but they don't have the smell

Oh, I am like you. I would  to have a real tree, but unfortunately, I am not able to since I live in a very small apartment. My parents would always have a real tree when I was little and I remember the whole house smelling like pines. It brings back some great memories of me being little and opening presents with the whole house smelling like Christmas. :angel11:

I will put up a real tree until the day comes that I can no longer handle doing it on my own. I always get a Frasier Fir because they're soft (not prickly), have very full branches and last longer than any other type. I live in a huge 1800's home so my main tree is usually 9-10 feet tall and if I have time, I also put up 1 or 2 other smaller trees in different rooms. I have been working a lot of hours and this is the first year in ages I have not gone out Thanksgiving weekend, gotten my tree(s) and started decorating. I need to get going on it, but right now all I really have the energy for is eating, sleeping and jumping on here for a short time. It WILL get done..... ;)

real tree, love the fresh smell :D

Fake tree. Portable, reusuable, cost-effective, AND better looking.
-
If giving a choice I would always have a real tree. The pine smell in the house is amazing and I haven't found any candle or spray scent that
can replace that. I do have a beautiful fake tree my MIL gave me when I was married. I am glad I have it because the last 10 years I have
not been able to afford a real tree. I do get lots of compliments on it but it is just not the same.

FAKE TREE BECAUSE THEY LAST ALL YEAR ROUND THAN REAL TREE AND FAKE TREE COME ALREADY DECORATED THAN REAL TREE
-
Fake...they're fuller and visually appealing. Wait, we're talking about trees, right!?
-
fake tree. it's less of a hassle. :peace:
-

-

-
fake tree, real ones r to much work and give me a headache :BangHead:
-
Go with fake, real tree needles are a pain in the butt, no pun intended. ;D
-
Fake. I don't have time to mess with a real one.
-
Fake for many years....not the best, but works!
-
We have a real tree but its so small and its probably going to take a long while for it to grow, but we have a fake tree.
-
it doesnt matter to me but i think a fake tree is better in the long run as far as cost
-
We always had a real tree and sometimes we would go and cut one ourselves and drag it in the house, but oh my, sometimes getting it in the stand was quite a job. I didn't really care for all the needles on the carpet. We didn't have the nice bags to put under the tree like they have now.
-
only use real tree once when my daughter's class was throwing away the tree. now i just use fake tree.
-
my mom always wanted a real white christmas tree but those are hard to find
-
I have a fake tree, but I do want to get a real tree at least once before I am unable to get it anymore. I have 3 small kids and one LARGE dog, so the fake tree is easier to set back up if it gets knocked down.
-
although real trees are beautiful and bring a nice smell into the house I prefer fake I did real for many years but fake trees are less of a fire hazard and not as messy and fake trees have come a long way alot of them look very much real
