I use to do real trees all the time. Now I just do fake. I have a fiberoptic tree up now. It's really neat.

Real tree is much pretty and classic but it is not that good for the environment. So I think Fake tree is a good solution for a tree without the hassle of cleaning then getting rid of it after Christmas (they usually burn it here on a big fire pot and I think this is horrible and some other deliver it to the parish and they use it as a natural barrier in the MS river).
You can even store the fake tree and reuse it :)

Real tree all the way. Love the smell of the house with a real tree. I must say some of the fake trees look very real, but they don't have the smell

Oh, I am like you. I would  to have a real tree, but unfortunately, I am not able to since I live in a very small apartment. My parents would always have a real tree when I was little and I remember the whole house smelling like pines. It brings back some great memories of me being little and opening presents with the whole house smelling like Christmas.  :angel11:

I will put up a real tree until the day comes that I can no longer handle doing it on my own. I always get a Frasier Fir because they're soft (not prickly), have very full branches and last longer than any other type. I live in a huge 1800's home so my main tree is usually 9-10 feet tall and if I have time, I also put up 1 or 2 other smaller trees in different rooms. I have been working a lot of hours and this is the first year in ages I have not gone out Thanksgiving weekend, gotten my tree(s) and started decorating. I need to get going on it, but right now all I really have the energy for is eating, sleeping and jumping on here for a short time. It WILL get done..... ;)

Fake tree. Portable, reusuable, cost-effective, AND better looking.

If giving a choice I would always have a real tree.  The pine smell in the house is amazing and I haven't found any candle or spray scent that
can replace that.  I do have a beautiful fake tree my MIL gave me when I was married.  I am glad I have it because the last 10 years I have
not been able to afford a real tree.  I do get lots of compliments on it but it is just not the same.

We always had a real tree and sometimes we would go and cut one ourselves and drag it in the house, but oh my, sometimes getting it in the stand was quite a job. I didn't really care for all the needles on the carpet.  We didn't have the nice bags to put under the tree like they have now.

I have a fake tree, but I do want to get a real tree at least once before I am unable to get it anymore.  I have 3 small kids and one LARGE dog, so the fake tree is easier to set back up if it gets knocked down.
