These are a few simple homemade ornament ideas to make ..I will post 4 of these have fun add your own spin too!
Instant Icicles
Wrap an eight-inch length of slim wired ribbon (available at craft and fabric stores) around a pencil or the tapered end of a paintbrush. Use a pin to make a hole at one end of the ribbon, slip a hook through the hole, and hang. Try the same technique with pipe cleaners, but wrap the top end around your finger to form a hook.

something easy is to get a clear glass ornament and have blue red and yellow paint and then you pour the multiple colors into the ornament and slosh the colors around a little (not much paint is needed at all!) and then let it dry. then you can write something on the outside too just to remember whose it was and when it was made!

Cool thanks Javadog!!

wow I love both ways of making cheap ornaments, and both are easy for kids to do with very little help.

I am going to try both of those! When I was little my mom would get those glitter glue sticks and some plain colored ball ordiments. Then you can just put your on designs on the sides, your name, and the year you made it. That way you could see how much better you were getting. Also if you do the clear ones you can put some clear glue in the inside and add colored glitter. We also did some clear ones with tensil in them or ribbon.

I really think that any ornament you make with your kids will be great. You can't go wrong when you are doing such things with your kids.

We always made snowflakes out of popsicle sticks as a kid...it was lots of fun!
