Since church is a forlorn attempt to confirm a delusion, I don't attend.

This is something that is interesting to me.  I think going to church will decrease with each generation.  I am curious to see how many people go to church in about fifty years.

We go to church every Sunday.
My husband and I sing in the choir.
My husband teaches Sunday School.

We are looking forward to the celebration of the Lord's birth.

I welcome the opportunity to be able to worship the Good Lord every Sunday, unless I am sick.  I really miss church if I am on a trip and the churches are too far away to get to.

I use to go to church and sing, but i don't go anymore i can't have my soul being attack and destroyed.  I'll explain what i mean about that first I'll tell my story,  when i was young my family made me go, i hate it of course.  A year or 2 years i got out of school I went to church again to tell him thank you for what he did for me.  He gave me my light the one person I love over my family and friends.  I feel him for the first time.  Any way i went one Sunday he the pastor call me an abomination to God.  I was angry and ask why if i felt him and he knew, well i went back to tell the pastor to tell him i forgive him. He said i don't need a *bleep*'s forgives.  I left the church hurt and alone pushed for god's light by a pastor.  I haven't went back, i can't have my soul attack or destroyed more.  Because some people show and different kind of light doesn't make it wrong.  Without the light i found back in school i would gave up.  So i ask and pray for understanding not all people are the same.

I'm sorry that happened to you. You realize that not all churches (or pastors) will treat you like that? Do a little research, ask your friends and family... I hope you find your way back to that light you love.  :angel11:

I have been a member of a wonderful little country church, Little Sandy Baptist Church, for almost 20 years now.  We are a Gospel preaching, teaching and believing church.  We have many wonderful Biblical Scholars who the Lord has blessed us with to teach us from God's Word.  I attend Sunday School, Sunday Morning Worship, Sunday Evening Worship and Wednesday Evening Bible Study.  I do the Sunday Bulletin.  I am a substitute Sunday School Teacher.  I sing in the choir.  I help in the nursery.  I help clean the church.  I tend to the church's flower garden.  I am an anchor on the Prayer Chain.  I love my church, my church family and, most of all, my wonderful Saviour, The Lord Jesus Christ.  If anyone lives or travels near Greenup County, KY, I would like to invite you to visit and worship with us.

To jkunert:  I am so sorry someone in a church made you feel the way he did.  Unfortunately, someone of influence caused this pain.  It doesn't have to be like that.  We are so lucky to have the freedom to choose where, when, how we worship in this country.  Seek out a place of love and acceptance to help you reconnect with church.  Until then, continue your journey.  The church is just a building, you can find God anywhere!  Good luck to you, you are a child of God, whatever light you shine!!

I also have to work every Sunday. From the time I was 2 years old til I was 21 I never missed a single Sunday or Wednesday service. My dad was the pastor and my mom led the choir. I wish I could go back. I used to love going to church.

I have no desire to be part of organized religion, therefore, I find ways to experience spiritual growth at home.  I'm on my own path and I love the sense of freedom that I believe God intended for all of us to have.  I still think of myself as a Christian and I have a great love and appreciation for Jesus Christ.

I go almost daily. I am Roman Catholic and try to be involved in my church. I believe that going to mass is a great way to start the day!

I go to a service the first saturday of every month and that is it.  I have been disappointed in every church I have tried to attend consistently and that is my problem I am sure, I expect too much out of people, find the situation too political - different reasons.  But I have a strong faith and belief and don't feel that going to church is a requirement to maintain that strong faith and belief.  People try to quote that scripture about not forsaking the assembling of yourselves together but I think anytime you are with other "believers" that is the same thing.  I was "raised" in church and even my mother became disillusioned with "organized" religion but was still a believer.  So anyway -0)

I do go to mass every Sunday. I have both of my girls in catechism too. I think it's important to have religion in your life! :angel12:
