So...thoughts about his new deal??
-
$254 or so million for 10 years is awfully a lot, especially for a person in his 30s. I would love to see him on my local team, but this length of a contract at this point in his life doesn't seem worth it for a team.

I am very surprised that Albert Pujols left St louis cardinals, but I guess he had 254 million reasons why to go!
-
If you like money, It is pretty hard to turn down that much money. Especially with the no trade clause in it!

The Angels seem to have a lot of money to spend.

This deal was completely out of left field.. in terms of payout and team. I never once heard the Angels name mentioned and they clearly overspent and blew Pujols over to get this deal done. Good get for the Angels but I wonder for how long. I believe he might the typical Pujols for the first 3 or 4 years but a significantly reduced version of that going forward. The last couple of years will be pure charity on the Angels part. Overall they are going to spend 254 million for let's say 4 great years, 2 or 3 ok years, and 2 or 3 useless years.

There's $254 Million angels :angel11: in the outfield.

I live near St. Louis and I don't like all the jokes the radio personalities are making about him and his family. St. Louis is now acting like they didn't care if he stayed or left which is not what they were saying before he took this contract. I personally wonder this though.....If Pujohls really felt like St. Louis was his home, then for the difference he was going to make would it be worth it just to stay in St. Louis? Is accepting that contract cause it was worth more being greedy? Who spends that much money in a lifetime? Me and my husband both think if Tony would have stayed as coach then perhaps Pujohls would have stayed also, I don't think he likes Mcguire. :dontknow:

As a Reds fan, I couldn't be happier. The less we have to play against him (now that he's in the AL), the better!
