Title: A lot of offers are bogus
Post by: Jayweb44 on January 19, 2012, 02:15:29 pm
I was just taking the personality test and i could only go so far before my router software detected the next page as a potential threat.  So who here is actually responsible for screening these offers before we take the risk of trying them?  Furthermore I'm getting pretty tired of spam emails and phone texts.  When I first signed up at FC I was under the impression that I would be simply taking surveys not all this other bull...but apparently that's not the case.

Oh it's also the same with the instant iq test.  It keeps going and going wanting me to validate my cell phone over and over again with tons of spam ads in between.  I eventually gave up just to end up being hammered with spam texts.

I think you need to screen the offers carefully before you do them, and make your own choice on whether you want to do them or not. Some of the offers are more obviously going to be potential problems.  Like everyone says also, set up a separate email address just for doing the offers.

If you only want to do surveys, then I'm not sure why you're doing other types of offers, like that personality test? Just do the surveys, and even then just pick and choose those you want to do.

Some offers can be a hassle, but most are not. It is up to you to choose which ones you want to do - you dont have to do them all. Surveys are in a different section "Daily Offers" and Ive never gotten any form of spam from them.

A good thing to consider is using 2 email accounts.. you have your main one you use every day that you sign up for fusion cash with (so you can be sure to get any important emails) then make a second one that you use just for filling out offers, that way you can still confirm emails you need to, and dont have to worry about wading through spam email to get to emails you need, since the ones you need will be on a different email account. (Yahoo is what I use - its free and you can have as many accounts as you want)

As for the phone spam.. I try not to enter my phone number, ESPECIALY for ones that say to enter it to get a pin, I dont trust them. Im sure theres a way you can get removed from their list and stop getting texts/calls.. check the end of the texts or on the website they are from to see how.

I completed and was credited for both of these offers without incident. On these type of multiple page offers you can usually skip through every page without entering any information unless you choose to so. If you look closely on each page there is a SKIP somewhere on the page and you can skip anything that you don't want to fill in or provide your info on. It will still credit, too. If it isn't working you can just close the page and find something that you are comfortable with.

Ok well thanks for the help, I did see the tiny little skip button at the top so I will try that.

I screen all the offers. I never give them my cell phone number. It is discouraging when you get halfway through an offer and have to quit.

Some of the offer are a bit bogus and some of the offer u do under no cc required does not give u the credit i think they need more survey relating to something that quite easy and simple and dont have to require a big headache.  :D ;)

I wish I would have watched the video before I started. I just figured out about the cookies . I guess thats why so many of my offers did not go through. I wonder now if i can go back ,enable the cookies and do them over again. I spent like an hour or more doing 2 surveys that i completed and did not get credit for.

But even if you skip through all the offers often you finally reach a page where they want you to choose a reward and complete 11- 13 more offers to qualify and just closing out or leaving at that point DQ's the whole thing, at least from what I have experienced.

I've had a few of these things credit (without doing the offers) here and there (multiple different sites), but more often they don't credit.
Another thing I've noticed is even when you "skip-skip-skip" it pre-fills in some of your info, so I always delete all the info that does fill in.
Basically though I started just staying away from these types of deals...too much hassle, too much spam, not enough of them credited.

I always avoid the offers that want any cell phone number... If you do get texts be sure NOT to respond in any way, don't even text STOP back to them or you will be charged! Just be sure you read the fine print attached to all free offers...  ;)

I have tried the IQ test and the Personality test a couple of times each and was able to get thru them but did not get credit for them.  I have become very leery of the offers as I haven't received credit for any in a long time.

Thse offers work great for some people, but not so well for others. Make sure you don't do more than one or two at a time, and try not to use the same email address for a whole bunch of them. For some people, like me, they just don't credit very well no matter what you do.

That's the reality of personality tests and surveys... you try SO HARD to qualify, then when you answer in a way that the system doesn't want, they immediately throw you away and say "you don't qualify for this survey!" That's very mean, and it ALWAYS discourages me from taking surveys!!

I agree with you on that.  I have completed a lot of surveys and never received credit.  So the advertisers get what they want and FC sit back and do nothing about them scamming the survey taker.  Its not fair, but you are stuck because no one is being held accountable.

I made it all the way to the end on the personality test and was never credited for it, the IQ test was the same....
Remember you don't have to sign up for every page that pops up...whenever something new comes up I close it out and continue with the one that I was working on. Not to mention when you do them after you fill out the initial set-up part and it asks you to complete an separate offer DON'T, just go to the very top of the page of the bottom of the page and press SKIP.
Also when I do sign up for other surveys I usually just remove my name from there mailing list after a few days

Lets hope that fusion cash just missed that. I havent had any problems like that since joining. The only problem i have had is that i am NEVER able to do surveys. Its pretty disappointing.

Yeah a lot of these offers will try to get you rolled in to other third-party stuff (which you can just skip).  Your account won't credit until you get to the last page, so just keep clicking skip and 'No' to most of the third-party offers until reach the final page on the original offer.

As far as security concerns, a lot of times things are reported as web forgery and in secure, but it could just be ad ware.  If you have an AV program, often it does go berserk on a lot of offer pages.  I just use MalwareBytes, so I can scan whenever and it doesn't have to be set to active 24/7.  Also, for further security, close all of your incoming firewall ports.
