My all-time favorite for a really bad cold is Claritin-D 12 hour. It makes me feel like I don't have a cold at all. It seems to speed up my recovery time by a couple of days as well as opposed to taking other cold remedies.

I had a horrible cold a few weeks ago and the only thing that helped me was Alka Seltzer. Pretty amazing stuff. I prefer the effervescent tablets though.
-
I don't do any of those drugs. If I take any medicine I'll take a homeopathic or some herbal remedies like echinacea. I treat my colds the old fashioned way with chicken soup, orange juice and lots of sleep. I also like Coke floats, especially if I'm feverish.
-
I take a lot of Vitamin C. Try to drink only clear liquids. Nyquil at bedtme. Flonaise if I have it.
-
I take Nyquil for a bad cold.
-
I don't like taking OTC medicine. I drink, drink, and drink some more to flush it all out. I drink lots of ginger tea.
-
vitamin C, dayquil, nyquil and vicks vapor are my preferred otc regular remedies. at night in moderation, an old family drink remedy (orange juice, bitters, 1 splenda and jack daniels) while curled up in your jammies helps relax you to sleep wonderfully.

Liquids - lot of liquids: chicken soup, water, juice, hot mandarin orange tea with honey. (Soup and tea are usually my highest preferences - anything "hot")
Then sleep...lots of sleep.
And a couple boxes of tissue close by... ;D
If I'm too congested to the point I cannot sleep, I'll drink a cup of Theraflu. Has to be a super bad cold for me to take one of those - despite the "lemon" flavor, that stuff's nasty in my opinion...but it works.

Mucinex Extra Strength!! Take it and you get better in 5 to 6 days!! I kid you not!! I used to get sick for a month, then my doctor told me to try mucinex, and it really works!!
-
I take Nyquil, Chicken soup and hot tea with lemons and honey.
-
I do power up with Vitamin C during the cold season--I have horrible sickness tendacies as is! Then I support the Dayquil/Nightquil options. Following the 4 hours dosing to the minute LOL Mainly I don't skip dosages until I feel 100% better. Colds are too iffy, sometimes you feel a little better then the next day or that night you are hit even harder than before!

I usually take Nyquill and night (the liquid) It knocks me out so I get a good nights sleep. The daytime nyquil doesn't do much for me. I rinse and gargle with salt water. Drink mint tea. If it's real bad I'll do an otc of some sort. Oh and when I have the chance...nap!

lots and lots of hot lemon and honey tea also orange (fresh) juice and honey. Drinks lots of ginger tea. Bed rest for a coupe of days. I never take otc. med. taste awful and not really good for a person. Also eat light meals like chicken noodle soup. Stay away from milk. It increases the music in your lungs.

A couple shots of Bourbon.
-
I like Mucinex, hot steaming showers, humidifiers, Vicks, herb tea, lots of liquids, and sleep.
-
lots of rest, vitamin c , water nette pot or a saline rinse is what we use. My 6 year old is faithful with the saline rinse becuase her colds eventually end up as a sinusinfection and antibiotics are not good if you end up getting it too often.
-
i take nyquil usually or dayquil whatever you prefer

Buckleys Syrup. Tastes like a bad day on the road, but it does work.
