I was thinking to have a movie marathon or weekend, what would be some classic movies to watch ?
-
The African Queen
Citizen Kane
Casablanca
The Seven Samurai
Rebel Without a Cause
Those are just a few that I can think of that are on my "must watch" list but there are plenty more too.

Strangers on a Train is a classic movie that is filled with suspense and intrigue. Its worth borrowing from your local public library in the meanwhile.
-
You need a good laugh too. Anything with the Marx Brothers or W. C. Fields is good. If you want something newer then Planes Trains and Automobiles. LOL.
-
Some of my favorite old movies are Scarface, Godfather, Taxi Driver. All three great movies IMO.
-
I always think of Steve McQueen movies. They are my favorites. Papillon, Bullitt, The Great Escape and others. He was hot! LOL
-
GONE WITH THE WIND

It's a Wonderful Life!

The spagetti westerns of Clint Eastwood such as A Few Dollars More, The Good the bad and the Ugly, or just about any of the old John Wayne movies. If you want war movies try Blackhawk Down or Saving Private Benjamin. Science Fiction movies the Star Trek movies or Star Wars. Romantic movies Your on your own cause I just don't follow those.

Im curious where one would even get theses. Granted you can do Netflixs, but especially if you are trying for marathon IDK if that's possible. Many of the rental video stores have closed in my area. Redbox just doesn't carry such titles.

Gone with the Wind is a MUST
The Sound of Music
All the Godfather movies

All of the original Star Wars and StarTrek movies...Are these considered classics now?

Yeah, Steve McQueen is one of my favorite actors. The Great Escape is a fantastic movie.
My favorite classic movie is Ben Hur, with Charlton heston, but it is very long, almost 4 hours, so I don't know if you'd be interested in that. A couple of good westerns are The Magnificent Seven (Steve McQueen), and High Noon (Gary Cooper).

The Philadelphia Story, Notorious, Arsenic & Old Lace, My Favorite Wife, Jezebel,
The Letter, Casablanca, Some Came Running, From Here to Eternity, Butterfield 8, Giant, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Rose Tattoo, The Great Gatsby
-
I'd recommend "Murder By Death" - classic mystery/comedy
I second the "Arsenic & Old Lace" from above.
Also, "The Princess Bride"
And "The Sting" - classic Paul Neuman/Robert Redford con flick. Lots o' fun.
As a geek, I highly recommend the original Star Wars trilogy (not the remastered ones from the 90's), and "Close Encounters of the Third Kind"

The Ten Commandments and Clash of the Titans are great classics. I can watch these two movies over and over again.
