Just wondering do you dye Easter eggs and if you do how many? What's your favorite color to dye an egg? :angel11:

Rarely. Did it a few times when I was a kid, and preferred "tyedying" them, but our family usually goes for the plastic eggs. I don't have kids of my own, but my nieces/nephews usually do a dozen then devil them for Easter Dinner :)

I love the new pastel colors and I still dye a dozen for my husband and I.  Easter would never be the same if I did not dye easter eggs.  I still use the Paas dye that uses vinegar.

We color a couple dozen with our kids.  They enjoy using a wax crayon to make designs then dye them.  The images where the crayon was don't color so you can see them when the egg is dipped/colored.  We try to make the coolest colored egg by mixing them.

I don't have any kids so I used to go to my sister's house and dye eggs with my 2 nieces.
They are  now grown and both are at college this year ... hmmmm ... maybe my sister and I
will still have an egg dyeing night ... that sounds like a good excuse to just hang out and
catch up with my sis.

Turquoise is my favorite Easter Egg Color.  It's so vibrant.  Dying Easter Eggs is something both myself and all 3 of my kids still enjoy doing.  I hard boil a dozen.  My youngest has a hay day with them.  My older kids like to attempt to blow the yolks and whites out.  I think it's fun to participate and take pictures.  They always look so funny with there cheeks puffed out.  It seems all 3 of them like to use the white crayon wax trick too.

Dip about 60% of the egg one color, then rotate and dip the other 60% different color. The 10% overlapping area should be a kind of gradient. :D

I used to dye eggs when I was a kid.  My favorite was trying to get a nice deep purple color.  Next favorite were the cool tie-dye swirl colors.  Haven't died eggs since I was in college.  One year my roommates and some other friends dyed eggs, then blew out the eggs (hollowed out the eggs to keep just the colored shells), and used a kit to make egg characters (add faces, arms, legs, etc).  Was pretty fun.  I still have some of them too.   :bunny:

Yes,family tradition, well I no longer do at home- but my daughters do with there kids. Dye eggs,fingers,tables,ect.,lol. We are a colorful bunch around Easter! I used to use the eggs for egg salad and deviled eggs ,but this generation wont give them up-one eats the yolk, the other likes the whites ,and the other eats the whole thing.

Havent done it since forever, and my child really has no interest in it. When I was younger, It was like I was a mad scientist and I had to set everything set up just right to get the perfect colored egg!

We did they amm the time the kids were growing up.  Then we did them with the grandkids.  The last few years we haven't done any as some of the family has been out of town.  Two years ago we were in Florida for Easter and hid plastic eggs for the kids around our rental house.

I have not dyed eggs in years, not since my son was younger. We always used the Paas egg dye kit. Loved making them various colors and than putting the stickers on them. We would also write on the egg with crayon before dying them so the words would show.

We dye a dozen and I make deviled eggs to go with the Easter ham. It's still fun to write on the eggs with a white wax pencil before dying them to make patterns and label with the kids names. They get a kick out of that.

It's been so long since I've dyed eggs, but I used to LOVE to do it! I would try to stripe the egg with all sorts of different colors, but I was particularly attached to blue! It's still my favorite color, actually!

Last year we died about 12, only because no one at my mother in laws house really eats them. I love boiled eggs. My aunt used to take part of them and make deviled eggs. Last year we did blow out eggs though. You put wax on parts of the egg then dip it to get a design. It is great!  :D

We usually boil about a dozen or so and let the kids dye them different colors. This year I think we're gonna do stickers on them instead.
