It'll end some time, but I don't know when. I doubt it'll be this year, like everybody's predicting.

at some point it'll end but i don't think it'll end in our lifetime or even our childrens.  Just cause a calendar ends doesn't mean anything it just ment they didnt thin something could last that long lol

The bible says very clearly that nobody knows the day or the hour when the world will end.  Why do people keep trying to predict it? :BangHead:  If you have put your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior then the end of the world is no problem. Are you pretrib, post-trib or milleniest? for those of you that don't know that means do you believe Christ will take Christians out of this world in the rapture before or after the Great tribulation...or not until his 1000 year reign on earth?

The bible says ...

There's no evidence to support the religious concept of "rapture" since that's a vague matter of 'faith' alone.

The sun will expand and burn up the earth in like 5 billion years, right?

The sun will expand and burn up the earth in like 5 billion years, right?

It would seem so, which makes the sun middle-aged. After evolving through the hydrogen-burning phase, the Sun will puff up into a huge red giant star as the hydrogen fuel becomes scarce, expanding 200 times the size it is now, probably swallowing the Earth. What's more likely is a large asteroid smacking into the earth well before 5 billion years rolls around.

When I was a kid I remember hearing that the world would end in the year 2000.
As long as we keep moving forward the date will keep changing.

There's no evidence that the sun is "evolving," and that it will puff up to 200 times its size and swallow the earth. You'll believe all the stuff so-called scientists say, on faith, with no proof, yet you always ask for proof whenever anyone believes what the bible says, on faith.

Probably, but I don't think it will happen in December 2012.

I'm not sure if you're simply trolling or, just simple-minded however, there is such a thing as astronomical evidence.

You'll believe all the stuff so-called scientists say, on faith, with no proof ...

Incorrect.  Evidence to support astronomical theories is required, just as it is for specious religious theories.  In regards to star sequences, scientists have the advantage of being able to observe distant stars, (which correlates to 'looking into a star's past'), and have observed stellar evolution first-hand.

... yet you always ask for proof whenever anyone believes what the bible says, on faith.

That's because I'm not the one proposing the completely unsupported claim that 'goddidit', sans any evidence whatsoever.  Whereas hard evidence exists which is not based upon religious "faith", (the same cannot be said for an irrational religious faith that contradicts rational evidence).

I'm 100% sure it will not be this year. I'm sure it will end, but I doubt it will even be in my child's lifetime.

No, it is not the end of the world! It has been like that since the beginning. Something is born...another dies.

Thank you! Not everyone believes in the Bible, so ranting on here will be like talking to a brick wall.  I'm a Christian myself, so I have no fear on the world ending.  I actually look forward to it.

Not everyone believes in the Bible ...

Certainly not in the specious beliefs of its thumpers.

Exactly like "ranting", (some might even say 'raving'), or trying to pierce the "brick wall" of blind faith.

I'm a Christian myself, so I have no fear on the world ending.  I actually look forward to it.

Ah, xtian nihilism - I've heard of that before, (Jonestown, Guyana).

I guess it depends on what you believe. Me being a person who grew up in church my whole childhood beleives that the Lord will come and take all the people who are saved in what is called a rapture. Then there will be a 7 year tribulation. 3 and a half years of peace and 3 and half years of war. Then the Earth will be destroyed by fire. We will spend 1000 years in Heaven then the Lord will make a new Earth and we will live with him there for eternity. So, no I dont beleive the world will end when they predict. I do however beleive that the rapture could occur before then..

The world will end for each of us on the day we die.

I am certain that the world will end but know man knows the time when that will happen.  Only God know that.  I know that this wicked world can't last much longer.  God has been very patient with mankind.  I do believe in the rapture and although we can't know for sure when this will occur I do believe it could happen anytime.

Sure the world will be destroyed someday but there is no telling when or why. It could be due to humans meddling with nature or some natural event. No one can predict for certain and there is nothing we could do to stop it. So it is best to just play ignorant and when and if the time comes hopefully it will be so sudden that we can all have a peaceful end.

Eventually it will cycl :dontknow:e out....the sun will red dwarf then super nova......we got a bout 5 billion years to go methinks.

That cycle on the Hertzsprung–Russell diagram shows the sun, (Sol), to currently be designated as a G2 yellow dwarf due to expand into a red giant and then finally contract in to white dwarf star in about 5 billion years.  Sol isn't the type of star which can go supernova.
