which do u prefer walmart or target??

walmart for essentials, target for fun!
to me, walmart doesn't exactly have ''unique'' things,
but it's friendlier to my wallet.
if i had to give up one though, it would have to be walmart :P

Target is more convenient for me and the sales with Walmart and not as big as they might have been. I can find comparable prices at Target for the most part.

Target ALL THE WAY! I love going in and browsing and after I have looked in other stores I tend to go back because they have better sales. Walmarts prices aren't as good . Occassionaly I will find something but they are usually too crowded with not enough staff.

If Target was closer I know I would go there more often then I would Walmart. Target has fun stuff to look at and love the kids clothes there.

Walmart; at least where I live, the Walmart may be smaller, but it is much better stocked than the local Target. Also much more clean and the staff is much more friendly and ready to help if you can't find what you're looking for. LOOOOOOOOOOVE Walmart. Target... not so much.

There is a super Target a few mile from us and we real like to shop there it is less crowd and lots of different things then Walmart.

I like them both when it comes to toiletries, beauty products and nic-nacs for the home, but I prefer Target's clothes and shoes a lot better than Walmart. (Walmart's clothes are god awful!)

Since we are quite lucky and they are both pretty close by, I check both before spending my money. The Target is newer and cleaner but the Walmart is still pretty good.

Me, too. I like Target better on the quality of things and uniqueness(?) of the items in the store, but Walmart beats them at price.

We don't have a target in our little town but I do go to the one in the next town sometimes. I like it pretty good but their grocery items do seem higher than Walmart. I liked our walmart better before they rearranged everything last year and cut back on carrying as much. Now I can't find items I've bought there for years and I do Not like the way it is arranged now. They say they changed things around to get people to go by different things and be inclined to buy more. That statergy doesn't work on me; if I've already passed something I would have bought if it had been in same old place I won't go back thru the store for it, I'll just buy it somewhere else.

Target - they have more store brand options but tend to cost a bit more at the checkout. However, if you go enough you receive Target coupons in the mail that are really good.
Target is more appealing and tends to feel a bit more sophisticated.

I end up shopping at Walmart more but I probably like Target better. It probably has something to do with we have like 6 Walmarts and only three Targets and Walmart tends to be cheaper on essentials

I actually prefer Walmart for all the reasons we should be against it...it's really more inexpensive. Plus it's right down the road from me.

Walmart! It is closer to me and easier acessable!! Not that I don't like Target - I find it better than Walmart for certain things but, I normally shop Walmart to pick up everyday items.

I don't go to either one. I go to the dollar store, then K-Mart. If they don't have it, I look for it on line and then go to Wal-Mart as a last resort. Target is fun, though, when you have some time. :)

I like Walmart online. The shipping is only .97 cents on all items.

I shop at Walmart because my hubby works there, which allows me to have a discount on all my purchases. Right now, I'm all about saving money.

I usually go to Walmart because it's closer to where we live. Target is a good store but I don't like the idea that they don't support our troops overseas or allow the Marines to put a collection box for toys for the kids that needle or any other military activity they are not very patriotic! They do good and in some ways but I don't think is nice to eliminate the services. I think Walmart allows the Marines and other things to put the toy enjoy boxes out for at Christmas time so they can give the toys to the needy children!

I'm more comfortable and more in control when I'm in Walmart, When I'm in Target i feel like a kid in terms of my spending.

i don't like either one, my favorite store is meijer...i can use mperks and paper coupons on the same item at the same time, saves me lots of money :thumbsup:

I love Target. I only go to Walmart if I have to. Target doesn't have a certain Sobe flavor that I like, so I have to go to Walmart if I want it. It also depends on the distance. One summer I spent at a friends house and Walmart was maybe 5 minutes away where as it was an hour to the nearest Target.

I have a problem with Target. Several years ago it was their policy to not allow th bell ringers in front of the stores at Christmas time.
I do not know if this is still policy, but I refuseto shop there because of this.

I prefer Wal-mart for the simple fact it is basically one stop shopping and cheaper than Target. I like Target for home decor & stuff like that, but still prefer Wal-mart.

Umm... I hope you were just joking about Target being French.... I can drive less than an hour away to see the corporate headquarters for Target. It used to be Dayton's was the parent company for Target, Hudson's, and Marshall Fields, but I think around 2000 the discount stores were becoming more in demand and the department stores less so, so they changed to the Target Corporation headquartered out of Minneapolis, MN. MN's governor Mark Dayton shares ties with the founder of Dayton (and thus of Target). And the MN Twins play on Target Field, their new outdoor stadium, and the Timberwolves play in the Target Center.
Now we Minnesotians may be called Norwegian (uf-da) but not so much French...

Wal-Mart all the way, I can not even remember the last time I went to Target. Plus our Target doesn't sell food. Wal-Mart is the one stop shop, look at me I sound like a commerical or something.

Both. Target offers a calmer experience, but Walmart is cheaper! I usually go to Target bc it's closer. Plus, I take anti-anxiety meds lol! If Walmart weren't so packed, I might say Walmart. But as it is, I'm usually a Target kinda girl.

I would have to say Walmart (half mile from my house) for most things--way cheaper and I can't afford to spend a little bit more for a great shopping experience. I do shop at target (3 miles from my house) for some things though, clothes and shoes for my daughter, and sometimes they have great sales on things we need.

I live in a county that does not have a Target. :'( We have two Wal-marts though. I like Target, but it's too much hassle to get to, especially without a car so I have to make due with Wal-mart.

target hands down i am so upset with walmart right now. The last few things i have gotten i have had to return because they didnt even last toys being recalled it just is getting out of hand

Definitely Walmart, and for some reason every time i go to the Target by my house it has a really funny smell, so i avoid it.

I would go for target. Maybe the workers over there are more friendly towards their customers and paid better? Then again, I won't see the free entertainment I'd see from walmart.

I have no preference. Their prices are pretty competitive. Whoever sells at the lowest price for the item I need is where I’ll buy it from.

Both- What one does not have...the other one will probably have it. Target Stores have the $1.00 or 2.50 section. You can find a lot of stuff there and save a lot!

I love both it is too hard to choose! Walmart seems to have the better prices. Target seems to be more organized and friendly. However, that is just in my area's preference because the Walmart is very ghetto looking. I still go to the Walmart regardless.

I like walmart especially since they built a new one in my town and its like a mile away from my apartment. So, I can pretty much walk to walmart, get what I need, save some gas and get some exercise that way :) I don't even remember the last time I went shopping at target lol

Now, this is a great question!!! Let's see Walmart offers the best prices on many, many items especially grocery and it does have just about all of the things that Target has. Target on the other hand, offers equally good selections but the draw-back is usually they are more expensive. So, I would have to say Walmart gives me the better all-around deal!!!!

wow, I see a lot of Walmarts in this thread lol. I actually prefer Target. there are more selections at Walmart, true, but I guess I prefer Target because it's actually closer to my house haha. and, I've seen documentaries/videos about Walmart shutting down small businesses because of its low prices from foreign labor and everything :- havent heard as much crap about Target.

Location for is key. This means Target is the winner. In terms of pricing, I think Walmart is the winner. Overall I like Target in terms of variety. To each his own.

To be honest they both have the same products, walmart maybe a little cheaper, but i think customer service is everything and i feel at target everyone is trying to help out and make your shopping experience the best possible which is great.

Target for sure, but the closest one is about 40 minutes away. The local Walmart is about five minutes from my house. Our Walmart seems to be always crowded with people blocking the aisles and there are never enough checkouts open. There are about 40 checkout lanes, but on a good day, it seems that there are about 10 or so open. Target is a generally better shopping experience.

There are so many more Wal-Marts than Targets in my area that I would usually have to pass at least one Wal-mart to get to a Target. I usually just stop at the Wal-mart.

Since I work at Walmart I guess I like it best. We do not have a target here in my town but they do about 30 miles from here. I get out of town everyone at a while but since I work 5 days a week I don't have much time. Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.

target has been making me mad lately they shipped the wrong item to my house after taking me months to get it, then I had to return it to the store, then do you think they offered to reimburse me for shipping no. I didn't have to pay but if I would have I would of been mad, aside from that I had to pay 20 extra for my product and the gas to get to target, wrong just wrong

I end up at Walmart more often because it's significantly closer. However, if they were equidistant, I'd be at Target because it's usually easier to find things, Targets are cleaner, the people who work there aren't worked so hard and usually have a better outlook, and I like their products just a little bit more. Now, if only stores that carried American made products could compete with the stores that carry chinese made products.

I like Walmart better only because I live in a small town and our Target is limited in things. Now that they decided to put food items they limit a lot of other things. Don't know if that was a great idea though. ???

Walmart. For the most part Walmart is cheaper than Target on the things that I need, although I am considering taking a closer look at some of the things at Target. Target does carry some things I prefer that Walmart doesn't, and I recently kicked myself after finding that Target had a better deal on a re-usable water bottle (on sale) than the one I found on ebay. Who knew? Looks like they're starting to carry more of what I need.

I like Target more because they offer more variety of items than Wal-Mart plus a better atmosphere. They may be more expensive, but the shopping experience is worth it. Their Archer Farms brand in particular is pretty good.

I like walmart. I think the pricing is better than target. However, target here has greatly enlarged its grocery dept. It's much faster to pick up a few otems and get out of target than walmart.

I really dont like either, I try not to shop at either one if I dont have to, I do however go to Walmart just because its the only thing around sometimes. Target...I dont' even waste my time no more. I think Target is too expensive, unless you get a sale.

Walmart has better prices and I find a better selection of everything there also. Target has a more upscale feeling to it though. I just don't seem to find the things there that I do at Walmart.

Actually have never been to a target but a couple of times because the two anywhere around here are about 30 minutes away and there is a wal-mart close by so we always go to wal-mart. Don't like either one that much anyway wal-mart never has enough cashiers and I don't like their meat products so whatever but we do go there about once a month.

I like both. I buy my groceries at Wal-Mart but a lot of other items at Target. I like Targets home decorations. The thing that I don't like about Target is that they are more expensive on items than Wal-Mart.
